Battery maker sonnen and contractor ES Solar have announced the initial results of their "Go Back" program, a VPP business model enabled by Rocky Mountain Power (RMP). This initiative allows Utah homeowners to upgrade existing solar systems with sonnen batteries, providing access to higher Wattsmart incentives, annual grid service credits, and improved backup power. ES Solar has already sold 18 MWh of sonnen systems through this program, which is expected to account for over 75% of their 2024 sales, leading to about 500 installations per month. RMP’s approach offers upfront incentives for enhancing existing solar systems, contrasting with the traditional new solar and battery model. https://lnkd.in/efmWEAKe #GoBackProgram #VirtualPowerPlant #sonnenBatteries #ESsolar #RockyMountainPower #Wattsmart #EnergyStorage #SolarUpgrade #CleanEnergy #GridInteractive #RenewableEnergy #VPPInnovations #SolarIncentives #EnergyEfficiency #UtahSolar

What is a low-cost alternative to line extensions on single-phase low-voltage grids that can help accommodate the increasing adoption of solar energy? The ECOTAP® VPD® I. Single-phase low-voltage grids are particularly widespread in the USA and Australia. The advantages of such grids are that they are easy to install, and the investment costs are comparatively low. However, absorption capacities are quickly reached when more and more households install solar systems on their roofs. ⚡ The low-cost alternative to line extensions is our ECOTAP® VPD® I, which also makes single-phase transformers controllable. Pepco Holdings Inc. (PHI) was convinced and used the VRDT for the first time in southern New Jersey. 👉 Curious how this project went? Find it out in our current issue of ONLOAD: https://lnkd.in/gyqJU6DC #reinhausen #thepowerbehindpower #VRDT #singlephasegrids

🚒🌞 Firehouse #91 in Fort Mohave, AZ, is now a beacon of sustainability, thanks to a solar installation by #SunquestSolar featuring #Enphase microinverters. This project will offset 90-95% of the station's energy use, saving around $50,000 annually. Doug Odum, Renewable Energy Consultant at Sunquest Solar, emphasizes, “Whenever we do a job, we always price both microinverters and string inverters. String inverters may save a few thousand dollars off the initial costs, but microinverters offer greater long-term savings. Enphase is the obvious choice, every time.” Enphase #microinverters were selected for their superior performance in extreme heat, reliability, and rapid shutdown capabilities, making them ideal for the harsh desert environment and ensuring the safety of our firefighters. This installation not only reduces operational costs but also sets a green example for the community. Learn more about this transformative project: https://bit.ly/4bPnpN1 *Certain Enphase products are only available to customers in select regions at this time.
