What an amazing family that we have been blessed with Intent Medical Group to serve our patients with parity. We were named Intent by Greta, the originator of our model, to remind us of our intent to put the patient first, the collective family second, and then each individual stakeholder, while important, following one and two. This week we operated in continuous harmony with Dr. Fukui, our IMG Chief of Neuroradiology, who scrubbed into the operating room to provide real time anatomic correlation for a complex case. This is the concept behind Greta's model of “Oneness,” independent of the specialty, we function together as a single unit to serve the patient. I am blessed to have partners including several former department Chiefs, Vice chairs and Chairs from well known academic medical centers, nationally regarded physicians and surgeons, along with APP partners, nurses, navigators, administrative assistants, and countless others who believe in the concept of “oneness.” In this model, everybody's hands are in each other's all at once, as we endeavor to serve patients. We are also blessed to partner with an incredible healthcare organization, Endeavor Health, who understands, supports and fosters the model. I predict that in the future it will be completely normal to have a neuroradiologist present, as is the case with Dr. Fukui, in every clinical venue ranging from clinic to operating room in real time. Just two decades ago, it was a struggle to allow systems and financial models to facilitate ENT and Neurosurgery to operate shoulder to shoulder through the entirety of an Expanded Endonasal Approach (EEA). When I first developed the concept one of the key barriers wasn't just managing the economics, but also the personal agendas. Value is only created when individual stakeholders put aside their personal intent and agenda in the interest of the patient and the collective family! I could not ask for a better partner than Dr. Fukui, who has become a pioneer of an entirely new field for her colleagues in Radiology, no different than what we did 20 years ago for Neurosurgery, ENT and otolaryngology. Neuroradiology is the next in the realm-time clinical integration on a daily basis, rather than historically during interventions only.
