𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
Data from the 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝟖 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐬 indicate that by #2030, 1 in 16 tech workers, which makes approx 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 individuals, may need to change occupations. This 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭 points towards high-skill jobs in AI, ML, data science, remote operations, and STEM fields, while middle- and low-skill jobs will likely decline.
With the increasing demand for employment 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭-𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, industries urgently need new skills to align with evolving business priorities. The post-pandemic industrial landscape requires engineering graduates to be 𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬, including automation and AI.
Industries must focus on 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 through 𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑘𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔, 𝑢𝑝𝑠𝑘𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔, 𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑚𝑎𝑙 𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔, 𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑒𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑝𝑠, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔. Despite fears that automation will replace jobs, I have strongly believed that the #𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 is expected to be 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞-𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜, with #engineers driving productivity and growth.
With India emerging as a 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐡𝐮𝐛, it is essential to address the critical expectations industries have when hiring new talent.
I will discuss these insights at the panel on ‘𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬’ at the HR TPO Conclave with #NASSCOM, #GUVI, and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (#AKTU), Noida, on June 28th.
