🔥 Lots of incredible AI models being released this week and increased attention on how AI can help in the most important ways. - Firstly, I loved watching Prashant Natarajan testify before the US #Congress on his perspective and work related to #veteransaffairs. https://lnkd.in/g6ecn_db - Secondly, on the heels of completely overhauling #bard with #gemini , Google DeepMind has released Gemini 1.5. This model looks extremely promising as another compute-efficient multimodal model that supports up to 10M token context length (!!). The needle-in-a-haystack testing of this model looks excellent. https://lnkd.in/gkFt_bAZ - Thirdly, more models are coming out related to text-to-video. #openai has released #sora a model that can produce text-to-video up to about a minute. I know very little about this model currently, but it's part of a growing trend. Organizations that aren't locked into to a single AI vendor are the only ones that can truly benefit from the incredible advancements we're seeing happen before our eyes.

For those that believe there is some validity in #ai certification, but don’t believe in central control or “assurance labs”, there is an emerging set of voices advocating for a “federated” register populated using local control, similar to the “clinical trials” model. It would set federal guidelines, but leverage local experts to “vet” and maintain the models, giving more visibility and more autonomy. https://lnkd.in/e6JfNnyp https://lnkd.in/eXDiy6-Z
