Begin your search as soon as you receive your university acceptance. Make Use of Resources from Reliable Companies: Professionalised companies often have accommodation offices that can provide listings, advice, and sometimes direct assistance in finding a place. Join Student Groups: Online platforms like Facebook groups for incoming students can be valuable for finding accommodation leads and potential roommates. Visit If Possible: If you’re in Dublin before term starts, try to visit potential accommodations to get a real sense of the place and neighborhood. International students demand a lot when it comes to their accommodations! Why shouldn’t they? Well, as an international student, I looked for something that ticks most of the criteria on my list because it was going to be my second home for a year. There are a few things that you must not sacrifice when you move to the UK for your education, and one of them is your accommodation. In case you are a September in-take student, the demand for accommodation is quite high with many options too. A lot of them finish their courses and many begin during the same time. The earlier you book the better. If you arrive in the UK in January, the options become lesser. Therefore, book a short-term stay and don’t be too picky. Make sure you consider these factors before you secure an accommodation: 💷 Budget: It is quite simple in the UK. The closer you get to the city center; the cost of your stay increases. Looking for something within the proximity of your university is a wise choice to make when you initially move in. Every pound counts! ✉ Documentation: This might seem confusing when you are back home figuring it out. Private homes and a few student homes might seek for a guarantor however, most of us might not have one. This is when trustable platforms help you with formalities and provide feasible options. Make sure to read your contracts! 🔐 Security: One of the most essential factors for students is how secure their student home is. Basic facilities like CCTVs should be a must while you narrow down your choices. If you choose to look for a private home, find a safe residential locality. Sleeping safe is the same as sleeping well! 🛍 Amenities and Access to Essentials: Student accommodations tend to have Wi-Fi, laundry services, gym access, study spaces, and many others. While these can draw you to the property, make sure to read about the inclusions and paid services. A key tip would be to secure your stay close to a grocery store or supermarket.
