🌍 Exciting News for Solar Renewable Energy Innovators ! 🌞 From March 13 to 15, the POwER Earth Summit was held in Paris, Europe's largest gathering dedicated to the energy transition.🔋 The event brought together some sixty leading figures from industry, politics, speakers, the media and climate specialists. 🤝 Objective 🚀 : to relaunch the debate on energy transition and attempt to define a common roadmap. Several round-table discussions focused on 3 major issues : ➡How can we close the gap between European targets and current French market capacity ? ➡How can we reconcile #renewableenergy development with the interests of biodiversity, agriculture and solidarity, as well as other players in the ecological bifurcation? ➡How can we improve collaboration between the various #energy players? 💡A number of innovative solutions have come to light. From large-scale solar installations to community initiatives, there was no shortage of innovative solutions. While far from bringing about immediate change, the summit reminded all energy players of the importance of working together to reverse the global warming curve and build a sustainable future. 🌱 #PowerEarthSummit

According to data from the @globalfootprintnetwork, in 2024 Portugal hit its Overshoot Day in May 28th, Spain on May 7th, and the EU reached it on May 3rd. Globally, Overshoot Day will fall on August 1st. 60% of humanity’s Ecological Footprint is carbon, and if everyone lived like Europe’s residents, we would require 3 planets to meet our demand. Decarbonizing the economy not only offers the best chance to address climate change but also significantly improves the balance between our Ecological Footprint and renewable resources. Reducing the carbon component by 50% would push Earth Overshoot Day back by 93 days. Transitioning to solar energy and adopting energy storage technologies are among the strategies to achieve this. Malogica Solar is actively supporting this transition by assisting homeowners, businesses, and solar professionals in advancing the date. Every action matters, join the #solarmovement with us and #movethedate!

#Vatican City is set to become the eighth country to achieve 100% green energy, powered entirely by solar energy. Pope Francis announced this groundbreaking initiative, highlighting the Vatican's commitment to climate neutrality and #sustainability. "We need to make a transition towards a sustainable development model that reduces #greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere, setting the objective of climate neutrality,” Pope Francis stated. The Vatican joins countries like Albania, Bhutan, and Iceland in generating all their electricity from #renewables. This solar project not only advances the Vatican’s energy goals but also serves as a powerful symbol in the global fight against climate change. José Saramago once said we "have to leave the island in order to see the island". Well, planet Earth is the big blue island that supports us, and energy transition is one of its greatest challenges right now. We must all take part, we must be focused in tackling it, United for a wonderful world. At EDP, we are already leading the energy transition, with innovative projects that harness the power of the wind, the water and the sun. And we will be 100% green by 2030. I choose to keep this a wonderful world. What about you? More at http://ms.spr.ly/6041cXBvL. #EDPWeChooseEarth #AllGreen2030 #EnergyTransition

At EDP, we ask this question daily and turn it into action. For over 150 years, fossil fuels have driven progress, but at a great cost to our planet. It's time for a change. This year, we achieved remarkable strides. We currently generate 97% of our energy from renewable sources, a significant increase from just 20% two decades ago. But there is more to be done. Our CEO, Miguel Stilwell d'Andrade, and Liebreich Associates CEO, Michael Liebreich, answered hypothetical questions posed by the Earth about building a sustainable future, inclusive energy transition, and a fossil-fuel-free future. Read The New York Times article on the link below, and join Miguel and Michael tomorrow at We Choose Earth Tour '24 in Munich or online worldwide to discuss the path to a sustainable future. In a remote corner of Sardinia, a groundbreaking energy-storage technology is emerging that could revolutionize our fight against climate change. Energy Dome, a Milan-based start-up, is using carbon dioxide to create a unique battery system that stores excess electricity from solar panels during the day and releases it back to the grid at night. This innovative approach could be a game-changer in transitioning away from fossil fuels. Read on to learn more about this cutting-edge solution and its potential impact on the global energy landscape https://lnkd.in/d4ESh6Qc

We are getting to the point where our solar has produced the equivalent of 900 trees, so that is about how many 600 year old trees there are in Sherwood Forest. 900 trees would occupy something like 100,000 acres and be absorbing carbon from our atmosphere. You can read more about Sherwood Forest here: https://lnkd.in/eiZ8E4y5 Or our story on our path to net zero here: https://lnkd.in/ePQ8WaxX
