70% capital carbon reduction by 2030 when measured against 2010 levels. This is included in Anglian Water Services capital investment target for AMP8. When reducing carbon has been shown to also drive down capital, we should all have a winning story or two. Especially if reduce, reuse, recycle can drive additional value, and is often nterlinked with innovation. Why don’t you share your example with me? On 30th May I attended the Climate for Change event Anglian Water held for their delivery partners (including Binnies) where current performance, the challenge and some innovative examples were presented. My favourite was the marine-substance pipe-liner to avoid mussels growing in pipes and reduce friction. Watch the supply chain for this one ☝️ #innovation #carbon

Insightful session :A drop in the city-Innovative practices for urban water Sustainability Connective Cities Had the pleasure of attending a fascinating session on sustainable water resource management in urban areas on 17th October. Learned from experts like @Luwsi from Zambia,Eng.Gathara, @Dr.Martin Cassel from Cologne, and @Paulus Ngolombe from Windhoek. Their insights on innovative solutions, challenges and best practicess were very invaluable. Here are some of my takeaways : 1. Incorporating elements of water sensitive urban planning for sustainable harvesting of rain water facilitates proper management of surface water. 2. The Application of the circular economy in the recycling and storage of water in Windhoek ensures there is continuous flow of water at any period of the year i.e dry or rainy seasons. 3. Use of water kiosks, bowsers and metering system in the supply of water in the informal settlement. 4.LUWSI-the initiative allows different stakeholders to come together to enhance water management practices and ensure sustainable access to clean water for residents.

I’m an author, non-profit consultant, sustainable development specialist, and social entrepreneur. Driven by a passion for humanity, I inspire, educate, and create innovative solutions for positive, impactful change.
As a sustainable development strategist, I envision Africa's sustainability revolution as a comprehensive strategy to harness the continent's abundant resources and innovation for a resilient and prosperous future. This involves: • Investing in solar and wind power to provide clean, reliable electricity, reduce emissions, and create jobs. • Adopting eco-friendly farming practices to boost food production, preserve resources, and enhance soil health. • Minimizing waste through recycling and repurposing materials, creating business opportunities and reducing environmental impact. To achieve this vision, we need coordinated efforts in policy support, education and training, innovative financing, and community engagement. This approach will drive economic growth, protect the environment, and promote social equity across Africa.

One of the biggest challenges of our time is to align economic growth with the sustainable use of natural resources. To tackle this challenge, the UN established Sustainable Development Goal 12 in 2015 on "responsible consumption and production". At Crown Agents, we integrate the goal into a variety of programmes, including by working with Sida on strengthening sustainable procurement practices globally. Read more about our work in this area in our most recent Impact Statement: https://lnkd.in/e9yRtsd4

The Executive Chairman of the African Energy Chamber Mr NJ Ayuk JD, MBA. in an interview with Global Business Reports (GBR), explained how the organization, over the past eight months, has focused on finance, particularly following COP 28 in Dubai, where there was significant global pressure to end or phase out the use of fossil fuels. This is set to address the energy poverty issues directly in African countries and finding practical solutions that benefit everyday people. Furthermore Mr Ayuk clarified how MoU emphasizes the critical importance of local content development in driving sustainable growth across the continent's petroleum industry. The MoU seeks to create an enabling environment for local content development, emphasizing job creation, capacity building, and SME empowerment. The interview went on to discuss how to perceive the stance of international bodies such as the UN or the IPCC on Africa’s decarbonization. Excited to share my latest policy brief that I co-authored with Dr Aneel Salman, titled, "Sustainable Development Through Circular Economy in Pakistan," a pioneering work emphasizing the critical shift towards a circular economy in Pakistan. This brief delves into overcoming the unsustainable linear production and consumption models through the "Reduce-Recycle-Reuse" approach, highlighting strategic areas such as waste management, renewable energy, and sustainable agriculture. It presents a forward-looking perspective on how Pakistan can navigate towards environmental sustainability and economic growth by embracing circular economy principles.
