Last week CARDIO4Dakar held a closeout event to celebrate its successes! Funded by the Novartis Foundation and led by IntraHealth International, CARDIO4Dakar partnered with the Senegalese Ministry of Health to treat and manage hypertension in Dakar and decrease acute cardiovascular events, such as strokes. Over the last 3 years, CARDIO4Dakar: - Diagnosed 26,102 people with hypertension, and treated 24,946, with 91% increase in screening and diagnosis and a 92% increase in treatment since 2018 - Developed Saytu Tension, a mobile app, web app, and chatbot to accelerate early detection and improve prevention and care of cardiovascular disease - Trained 714 health workers in hypertension and risk factor management - Launched the CARDIO4Dakar Toolkit to provide comprehensive guidance on sustaining the CARDIO strategy.
