Meet "The Wires and Cables Man of India 🇮🇳" whose journey to 81000 Cr Market Capitalisation started with a Crisis 😥 Inder Jaisinghani, the current CMD of Polycab was all of 15 years old when his father passed away. It was 1968 and his mother asked him to quit studies and take over the family business. The family ran Sind Electric Stores, a small hardware and electrical store in Mumbai, which sold fans, lights, switches, and wires. Soon, they developed a profound understanding of electrical wires and realized the potential for substantial earnings in manufacturing them. The real story began in 1983 when they started a firm named Polycab to manufacture electrical goods at a large scale in Gujarat. The firm grew well and the family reinvested the profits in the business. 2008 was significant as the World Bank's private equity arm, International Finance Corporation, invested in Polycab. In 2009, the company diversified into the EPC business. Over the years, Polycab expanded its product portfolio, incorporating LED lights, switches, and electric fans.
