As we approach 2025, I can sense what might be the dawn of an “AI Autumn.” This is a moment where, despite tremendous funding, some AI startups lack real products that create tangible value. Having seen companies thrive on hype alone, I recognize that we’re at a pivotal juncture. I am sharing this interesting article by Associate Professor #AbhishekNagaraj of Berkeley Haas School of Business. The consequences of a race to dominate generative AI are not small. Because control would end up with a few leading players in the world of AI, it can decrease the openness of the sector and hamper innovation. This may indeed dampen the transformational potential that future AI technologies can bring about. This way, it may slow progress within an industry which has moved forward historically because of creativity and competition. We need to make sure that the future of AI development is for all and not monopolistic, but open to collaboration for innovation.
