🚨 Personal reflection ahead 🚨 ✨ I can’t believe it’s already been over two years since Joel Mansnerus convinced me to leave the corporate world at Elisa and dive into the startup life at Fixably! Like any journey, it’s been filled with ups and downs, and yes, there have been moments of doubt and reflection. But regret? Not a chance! 🚀 While I do miss the amazing people at Elisa, I’m glad we still get to connect outside of work. 😘 I’ve also come to appreciate some of the benefits I used to take for granted in large corporations — such as ample resources, dedicated support functions, structured time for reflection and learning, and extensive employee benefits. One of my biggest initial concerns was leaving behind the perceived security of a large corporation. But looking at the current landscape — with so many “open to work” updates here on LinkedIn — it’s clear that company size doesn’t guarantee stability. At least in a smaller company, there’s a greater sense of ownership and the ability to make a direct impact on how we do things. We can be agile and pivot quickly when needed. If something isn’t working, we’re not bogged down by bureaucracy or rigid processes; we just adapt and change direction. This flexibility has allowed us to stay innovative, experiment, and continuously refine our approach. 🔄 Every day at Fixably brings new opportunities to grow, wear different hats, and tackle fresh challenges. It’s rewarding to see the impact we’re making through our mission to extend the lifetime of billions of devices. 🌍 Lately, I’ve been especially energized by the opportunity to explore new areas for growth — more on that later! But what truly makes it all worthwhile is the incredible team I’m fortunate to work alongside. Just popping in to say that I could not be more thankful to be starting out 2025 with BRIJ Medical Inc. The past couple months have been a whirlwind - the kind where you look up and suddenly realize it's January and you're sitting in meetings actually knowing what people are talking about (mostly... okay sometimes... well at least more than that first week when everything sounded like a foreign language mixed with alphabet soup). But you know what else they don't tell you? That you might actually hit the team lottery. I'm talking about the kind of people who'll jump on a plane for 24 hours just because you haven't gotten to meet in person. The ones who respond to your slightly panicked teams messages with both solutions AND gifs (because honestly, sometimes you just need a well-timed SpongeBob meme to get through the day). And let's talk about culture for a second. Because everyone throws around "great company culture" like it's confetti on New Years, but this? This is 3am texts about ideas that just can't wait till morning. This is people who give you a seat at the table no matter how new you are. This is people who genuinely want to see you succeed - not just because it helps the company, but because they actually care. You know those moments when you're sitting in a meeting and suddenly think "holy s***t, I actually get to do this for a living"? Yeah, those are happening more and more lately. Sure, some days are still a tornado of "what am I doing" and "is this actually going to work" but that's the beauty of a startup right? We're all figuring it out together. And I couldn't be more excited and thankful to be figuring it out with this team!

This month we tried something new at Incubyte. We paused our regular hustle for an all-hands "Reflective Space," a call where our team gets a moment to reflect and grow together. 💡We broke out into smaller groups and talked about one of our core values, the active pursuit of mastery. This call was more than just a meeting; it was a safe space for vulnerability, where every team member could express thoughts and concerns without fear of repercussions. People talked about wins and challenges they encountered on their learning journey, with openness and honesty, helping each other with their challenges. 💡 Being a remote team, we often end up meeting our own team members frequently and do not connect with others in the company. This helped us meet new folks and get totally different insights based on their projects and challenges. This was a small initiative that helped us foster a culture of genuine support and collective growth.
