“A lot of firms seem very fixed on the return to office and we’re trying to shift that focus. Instead of obsessing over getting people back to the office, they should focus on making sure everybody has an outstanding experience whenever they do go.” Our Chief Insights & Research Officer, Peggie Rothe, discussed key findings from our Power of Place report with Mark Eltringham from Workplace Insight. Peggie emphasises the importance of understanding what employees need from the office, allowing organisations to tailor the workspace to those needs. However, a one-size-fits-all approach won't work. Peggie highlights the need for customisation: “I don’t think you can embark on the process of making the best place for your employees if you haven’t thought through things like what the office is for.” By focusing on these aspects - not just occupancy - we can create more meaningful and effective work environments for employees. #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek ends, but we stay here 💁♀️ I had the pleasure of attending the webinar "Neurodiversity for HR Professionals" this week. The speakers – Jacqui Willis, Angelica Simpson, Dianne Greyson, Gill Rudge, and Maya Woodley – shared some interesting insights. They talked about everything from setting good policies to real-life experiences. But most importantly, they helped bridge the gap between HR professionals and neurodiverse employees. These days, nothing's more important than getting everyone on the same page. A lot of the time, people push back against making accommodations or even acknowledging neurodiversity because they just don't understand it. But trust me, those who understand the confusion best are the neurodivergent individuals themselves. Imagine spending your entire life mistaking your symptoms for personality flaws. Breaking that misconception isn't easy, which is why it's challenging for others to grasp the seriousness of the situation. That's why raising awareness is crucial – it facilitates better collaboration among us all. So as the week wraps up, our commitment to spreading awareness doesn't end. We're here for the long haul. ✨
