A new PET imaging agent yielded high-quality PET scans of metastatic ccRCC tumors in as little as one hour. In a new study published in The Journal of Nuclear Medicine, research shows that CAIX tracker Debio 0328 massively cuts down on the time it takes patients to get a scan. Plus, it’s clinically nontoxic to the body. Read more in our May 2024 featured article: https://lnkd.in/eqHeCm_U #nuclearmedicine #cancerresearch #research #theranostics

Blood pool imaging has always been part of nuclear medicine protocols for inflammation and other vascular processes. Now it comes to PET! Reconstruction of dynamic data acquired between 2 and 5 minutes on our extended field-of-view Siemens Biograph Vision Quadra after injection provides exquisite images of the vascular system and sites of inflammation. In this example, inflammation of the tendons behind the left ankle and in the left big toe are clearly evident. There are so many indications and applications of PET beyond oncology that can benefit from whole-body dynamic imaging and innovative post-processing of the data. More to come! #MTIC #rheumatology

Atomic Energy: More Than Just Power ! While atomic or nuclear energy is often associated with electricity generation, its applications extend far beyond. One of its most significant benefits lies in the medical field: Cancer Treatment: Radiotherapy, a vital tool in fighting cancer, utilizes ionizing radiation from radioactive isotopes. Medical Imaging: Isotopes like technetium-99m are essential for imaging techniques like PET and SPECT scans, providing invaluable diagnostic insights. Sterilization: Radiation can effectively sterilize medical equipment, preventing the spread of infections. The potential of atomic energy in healthcare is immense. By harnessing this powerful energy source responsibly, we can revolutionize medical treatments and improve countless lives. #atomicenergy #nuclearmedicine #healthcare #technology #innovation

Please watch this podcast to learn more about the promising field of targeted radiotherapy. This is why we do what we do at Nucleus.
I am honored to post a podcast from the Mayo Clinic series Tomorrow's Cure, with my friend and esteemed colleague Dr. George Sgouros, intended for the general public. Thank you to Cathy Wurzer and the Mayo team for this effort! I hope this helps our patients better understand this exciting field of #CancerCare. #NuclearMedicineTherapy is sometimes the best option for people who no longer respond to other treatments. It is often helpful for patients with cancers that are historically hard to treat, like #ProstateCancer, or #NeuroendocrineTumors. Find out how Nuclear Medicine Therapy, when combined with other therapies, can control symptoms and shrink and stabilize tumors, sometimes for years. Featured experts are Dr. Geoffrey Johnson, Nuclear Medicine Specialist/Radiologist at #MayoClinic; and Dr. George Sgouros, Director of the Radiological Physics Division and Professor of Radiology and Radiological Science at #JohnsHopkins Whiting School of Engineering. #RadiopharmaceuticalTherapy, #RLT, #RPT, #RadioLigandTherapy, #TargetedRadioTherapy, #TRT, #TargetedAlphaTherapy, #TAT, #NuclearMedicine, #PET, #SPECT, #Radiotracer, #Radiology, #PRRT
