There are so many aspects to neuroinclusivity, including being sensory informed, and creating a working environment that is sensitive to this. If you are struggling to keep track of the many areas that must be addressed to achieve neuroinclusivity within your business, please reach out.
Neurodiversity trainer & consultant | Founder of Divergent Consulting | Former teacher & engineer | Proud dyslexic, dyspraxic ADHDer 🧠 | Let's make the most of the brains in your business!
Have you ever considered the sensory experiences of your employees? 🤔 Neurodivergent people often have a more intense or heightened sensory experience day to day in one or more of their senses. This can be wonderfully useful for, say, sound engineers who can rely on their high sensitivity to different sounds to deliver the best audio experience. Or maybe if you ate cake for a living and experienced a heightened sense of taste, but unfortunately, there are a lot of times when it doesn’t come in so handy. In the workplace, heightened sensory experiences are so very distracting! And there are so many senses to think about - even just reading this may feel like an overload! 😬 Working out what works for you, your neurodivergent team members and your workplace will be unique, but it is possible! Your workplace, your employees and their collective productivity would be better off with accommodations in place. #WorkplaceAdjustments #Neuroinclusivity #SensoryOverload P.S. If you aren’t sure what these should be for you or how such accommodation could fit in your workplace, reach out to me and we can work out how best to move forward and make the most of all the brains in your workforce.

How to keep your business running while you sleep? In today's digital world, it's pretty much the norm to find fast and efficient ways of doing just about everything, especially in the context of business operations. One game-changing strategy that has revolutionized the business arena is the use of software automation. With this technology, companies can essentially 'work while they sleep', streamlining their processes and increasing productivity, thus taking their business to new heights. Software automation essentially takes mundane, repetitive tasks out of the hands of your human workforce, and entrusts them to... well, robots. This digital transformation not only offers an ICT solution but also has the potential to dramatically change the operational structure of your business, freeing up your employees to concentrate on more strategic roles. With ongoing advancements in machine learning and artificial intelligence, the scope of what automation software can do is constantly expanding. The result? A business that operates around the clock, often with increased efficiency, accuracy, and productivity. However, it's important to bear in mind that automation does not eliminate the need for a human workforce. Instead, it elevates the roles of human workers, allowing them to focus on key areas such as strategic planning, decision-making, and creative tasks – areas where human judgment and innovation are irreplaceable. Investing in software automation tools is definitely a smart move for modern businesses. They help companies remain competitive by eliminating delays, minimizing errors, and enabling seamless workflow processes all day, every day. The concept of 'working while sleeping' has never been closer to reality. Utilize automation, and let your business thrive even in your off hours.

Reflecting on Information Overload in Today's World: A Call to Action for Companies In 1971, Herbert Simon insightfully stated, "A wealth of information creates a poverty of attention." Fast forward to our era, this sentiment rings truer than ever. We find ourselves navigating an overwhelming sea of information - smartphones buzzing with notifications, relentless news cycles, social media feeds, and a constant stream of emails. It's no surprise that concentration and focus are becoming scarce commodities. This information deluge is not just a distraction; it's impacting productivity on a deeper level. Many find themselves carrying work home, either physically or mentally. The result? Increased stress, disrupted sleep, impaired recovery, and reduced performance at work. Not to mention, the rise in errors due to divided attention. Here lies a crucial point: companies need to step up and aid their staff in developing strategies to manage this modern-day information overload. It's about introducing mindfulness practices like meditation, utilizing tools like 40Hz binaural beats, or even implementing practical policies around phone usage and focused work times. Offices can become sanctuaries of minimal distractions, promoting a healthier, more focused work environment. The need for assistance is clear, and it must be met with compassion. If you're looking to transform your workplace into a haven of productivity and well-being, reach out. I run workshops which help organisations craft tailored solutions to navigate the challenges of information overload in the modern workspace. Let’s collaborate to create a more focused, efficient, and healthy workplace environment. #MindfulTechUse #DigitalWellness #FocusStrategies

We're immersed in technology all day. While tech enables us to work, connect, and achieve great things, it can distract us from what matters most. Google's productivity advisor Laura Mae Martin has a simple suggestion: try a weekly digital detox. Martin instituted "No-Tech Tuesday Nights," where she unplugs from dinner to bedtime. Freed from digital distractions, she finds her in-person interactions richer and feels more energized the rest of the week; over 2,500 Googlers who have taken part in her annual detox challenge report similar benefits. Key Takeaways - Constant digital distractions prevent the "quiet mind" needed for deep thinking and creativity - Taking one tech-free evening per week can improve sleep, relationships, energy and problem-solving - Start with a small, achievable goal like a few tech-free hours rather than a radical digital overhaul Action Items 1. Schedule one consistent night per week (like Tuesdays) to unplug from dinner to bedtime. 2. During detox, spend time on analog hobbies, in nature, or connecting with loved ones distraction-free. Notice how you feel. 3. Take other small steps like charging your phone outside the bedroom, deleting social media apps, or earning screen time through outside time. #digitaldetox #productivity #mentalhealth #wellbeing #worklifebalance

Audio does affect our mental and physical well-being. Sound can be loud. And, a loud workspace is hard on the mental space. 74% of the 2,000 workers in a recent study said that working in a loud environment made them mentally tired. They want the opportunity to focus and be productive. The noise and distractions can come from meetings at coworkers desks without headphones and coworkers on phone calls. Additionally, poor audio quality during phone calls and 2D conference calls negatively impacts our well-being. 63% of those surveyed said the low-quality audio or loud environment makes them physically tired. Those who feel it’s difficult to be passionate about their work in a low-quality audio or load environment? 63% of the workers surveyed. Mental fatigue, physically tired, and low passion for work are all valid reasons for employers and business-owners to evaluate what changes can be made for the well-being of all staff. Please keep in mind that the open-air, brainstorming ‘office’ area is likely distracting to 60%+ of your team members working on other projects or tasks. Let’s check in with our coworkers about their mental and physical well-being, especially about the quality of audio and sounds (noise) in the workplace. PS: This is why people working in a coffee shop have their headphones on or earbuds in. They are intentionally hearing what they want to hear. #SureEaseHealthWellBeing #HighQualityAudio #MentalWellBeing Want a change in your Health & Well-Being? 🗓️ Book a Clarity Call from Featured Section 🔔 Click for each post
