As we shift gears into autumn, IRIS would like to reach out and remind our community that we play a vital role in keeping many of our new neighbors warm as winter approaches. If you have any spare coats, boots, gloves, hats, or mittens that are gently used, please head to one of our drop-off locations (or coordinate with someone from our team) so that we can make sure everyone can stay warm this winter. #NationOfWelcome #WinterClothing #Coats #Boots #Donations #Refugees

Good to be involved with such a noble cause..
Our Custom Bespoke Jackets are becoming famous! Keir Starmer’s glitter jacket from Labour conference raised £2,700 at auction yesterday, with all proceeds donated to support our work. The jacket was covered in glitter by a protester during Starmer’s leader’s speech and though no harm was caused by the incident, the ease at which the protester was able to get to Starmer was a stark reminder of the security risks faced by elected representatives. #bespokeframing #framedjacket #Framedsuit #custombespokejackets #framedmemorabilia #generalelection2024 #generalelection #jocox #jocoxfoundation #customframing #labour #keirstarmer #charity

I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as: Charity Carwash - Operations Manager, at St Barnabas Church Fendalton! Today, Saturday 15th June I’m joining 21 volunteers to raise money for kids in Timor-Leste who are caught between extreme storms, droughts and rising seas. We’re washing cars and selling baked good to raise funds through this year’s World Vision 40 Hour Challenge. If you’ve in Ōtautahi Christchurch with a car that could use a winter wash, we’d love you to bring it to us on Saturday 15th June 10:00am - 2:00pm at St Barnabas Anglican Church, 8 Tui St (just off Fendalton Rd). We’re requesting a donation of $20 (or more for the cause if you like). For those outside of Christchurch, a number of your are still supporting the kids in Timor-Leste by making a donation directly to World Vision via our fundraising page here: https://lnkd.in/gHddGXRG I will confess that I was an unlikely choice for this particular operations management role because… a) I’ve not had and operations role for 12 years, and b) I don't wash my cars, at all...! Therefore in preparation I have undertaken an extensive review of the car washing literature (ChatGPT, YouTube, automotive store websites) to pull together an exemplary wash protocol with an accompanying wash tool set that achieves an excellent finish in an efficient timeframe. I’ve also taken into account environmental factors (water use, avoiding detergents getting into the stormwater system), health and safety, and training considerations. Serious stuff! (The math nerds reading this will have calculated that 10:00am - 2:00pm is only 4 hours, not 40 hours... I can assure you that the wider volunteer team will together be putting in well over 40 hours collectively. Plus my planning/preparation has been particularly extensive (obsessive perhaps?), so I may have used-up 36 hours already!) 😁 If you are able to support the kids in Timor-Leste it would be very much appreciated. #OperationsManagement #CarWash #Charity #CommunityAction

Founder of Wild & Free®️ | Independent Brand Strategy Consultant | Fractional CMO | Speaking Engagements, Training & Masterclasses
Wednesday 31st January marked the end of our Wild & Free Dip a Day Campaign 2024, where together with some strong minded members of our Wild Tribe, we dipped every day for 31 days in the sea, lakes or an ice bath to help our own wellbeing, and at the same time to raise money for our 3 amazing charities, Pieta Samaritans and AWARE NI who will equally gain from our fundraising efforts. Wild & Free will donate £5 for every single dip that took place where the person posted, and then all of our wider community have all been giving what they can to ensure that we can support these wonderful charities as much as possible. We learned so much personally, as a community and as a business through our challenge that we will take into 2024: 1: We can do hard things 2: Pain and difficult feelings will pass 2: We can make new habits by making them non negotiables in our daily routines 3: The power of your tribe and community makes you unstoppable - choose wisely - and together you can hold each other accountable 4: Cold Water Immersion is like a surge of energy and dopamine that truly powers your day. 5: Cold Water immersion certainly kept sickness at bay for those who dipped daily, in a month when it was hard to avoid 6: Starting the day in nature, embracing the elements is like a mindfulness, grounding and cold water therapy session all rolled into one, so powerful - We may not keep dipping every day, but we will certainly try to dip most days, as the benefits are too significant not to. 7: Doing something for a purpose, a greater good needs to be there to keep the discipline up when the motivation is not there, which when we met Storm Isha and Jocelyn and the snow and ice, was needed, believe me. If you would like to donate to our campaign no matter how small, you can do that via the link below as we will keep it open for one more week, and do look out for future sea swims and you perhaps you might even think about joining us for the Wild & Free Dip a Day in 2025 🤗 https://lnkd.in/dHiThXi5

Just two weeks to go before the WD Geocaching Adventure in support of our Charity of the Year, PROMISEworks. Never done (or heard of?!) geocaching before? It’s a simple concept: use an app to locate items (“caches”) left behind by previous walkers and, if you find them, record your achievement before placing it back for the next adventurer! And if you’re struggling to find it, use the helpful hints or user comments to narrow it down. Geocaching is a popular activity for the young people supported by PROMISEworks, and enables mentors to get them outdoors and active during their time together. If you’re interested in becoming a PROMISEworks mentor, pop along on 3 August and hear a little more about what it involves. #geocaching #walking #charity #taunton #somerset #accountants

We should begin to declutter our homes not on the basis of what should be gotten rid of but rather what should be kept! It is not always easy to let go of the things that we have held onto but like every person who has ever been in a toxic relationship will tell you – letting go isn't so bad. If the things that you have are useful, like old jackets or sweatshirts, that do not fit you anymore but are in good shape, donate them to various charities. It is once you get rid of all these things that you make so much room to breathe and to fill your space with all the things that you really need, want, and will make your life so much easier. #DeCluttrMe #professionalorganizer #simplify #declutter #decluttering #clutter #clutterfree #organizing #organized

We were very lucky to be able to pay of some of our vet bills in their entirety during the summer ☀️ But they are rising once again and for the end of august and the month of September; although we are trying to keep vet use to essentials and emergencies - we are looking at over £1500 for one vet practitice. We are struggling - and while this bill is much lower than what we’ve paid of - we don’t have this money coming in. We are struggling to find money to pay for food, bedding, vet bills… we don’t have the man power and most of our senior volunteers are flat out trying to get things to work 😥 We need help to fundraise, to make real changes and improvements, to keep fighting. Can you help us? 🙏 Every little does help, we just need a little from a lot. Please note, that we don’t just need ideas we need physical people to implement them. We don’t have anymore manpower. Please help, please support, we ask for them 🐴 🐶 🐈 This bill is for Kerry, for Lucas, Grace and Denzel, it’s for Bobby, Sofitel and it’s for Cyril 💚 #animalrescue #crosskennanlaneanimalsanctuary #northernireland #localbusiness #Charity #belfast #supportlocal #horserescue #dogrescue #catrescue
