🌟 Roughneck Camp Panel Highlight 🌟 Our third panel is on Asset Management for Low-Carbon Energy and will cover how decarbonization and CCUS technologies (EOR, etc) advance the transition towards low carbon energy, discussing implementation of sustainable practices in energy assets to contribute to the transition towards low-carbon energy. Moderating the session, Maziar Zarea is currently a Petroleum Engineer at Iron Orchard Operating, LLC , a unique private player in the Permian Basin. His expertise spans upstream energy strategy, midstream infrastructure, public policy, geopolitical risk, data analytics, and software development. At Iron Orchard, Maziar specializes in production operations, acquisitions and divestitures (A&D), and all digital technology efforts, leveraging his broad experience to drive innovation and efficiency. Maziar started his professional career by laying a diverse foundation, initially working as an Energy Fellow at the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington, D.C., where he focused on natural gas regulation and international engagement. He received his B.S. Petroleum Engineering from the Cullen College of Engineering at the University of Houston with a minor in Energy & Sustainability. Mohan Chahal is Asset Manager, Williston and Rockies, in the Gulf Coast & Rockies business unit for ConocoPhillips. Originally from the U.K., Chahal has 20 years of experience working in a variety of technical and management roles across the U.S. and Europe. He has held leadership positions in operations, subsurface development and appraisal, corporate planning and strategy and capital projects, supporting offshore conventional, LNG, onshore unconventional and EOR assets. Chahal earned a Master of Engineering degree with honors in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London in 2003. Amir Hermes is the New Energy Business Development Manager for SLB. Prior to this role, Amir held various Technology Development and Management positions including most recently Product Line Manager for SLB’s North America Offshore business, based out of Houston, Texas. He started his career with Schlumberger in 2003 in France and has worked since then internationally in the Middle East, the United States of America, the North Sea and Continental Europe, holding roles in several business functions including Engineering & Manufacturing, Operations, Sales, and Marketing. Amir holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ecole Centrale Paris and a Master’s in Management of the Energy Industry from the Heriot-Watt University .
