Part. 2: The Story of drainpipe.io - Who is Dominick Romano (Part 1)? Personal trust is paramount for startups selling visionary solutions to large enterprises. Buyers are far more likely to engage with individuals they trust and believe in, especially when they are visionary leaders at the helm of hi-tech and emerging tech startups. With this in mind, I have chronicled the journey of drainpipe.io from its inception to its current meteoric rise to provide readers with a deeper understanding of the visionary behind the company—Dominick Romano. This narrative highlights the dedication, challenges, and innovative thinking driving drainpipe.io forward. It's not solely about the technology; it's about the passion and relentless pursuit of excellence that defines Dom's journey. It's about the unique entrepreneurial traits that are inherent to a select few—traits that, after 30 years as both a startup founder and advisor, I believe are not learned but are hardwired genetically. These include the entrepreneurial resilience required to persevere despite overwhelming odds and challenges. I penned the story of drainpipe.io because it stands out among the few startups in this peak of inflated expectations for AI that, in my view, has a legitimate shot at becoming the OS powering the AI revolution. In parts 2 to 14, I dissect Dominick Romano's persona, the birth and evolution of drainpipe.io, how the company embodies Dom's values, and how he continues to accelerate its growth, distancing drainpipe.io from its nearest competitors at an ever-increasing pace. #technology #ArtificialIntelligence #startups #topology https://lnkd.in/dUUQtXHP

These tips from our Co-Founder Barbara Bachus are fabulous - not just for startups pitches, but any presentation about a complex product: 1. Put what your company is doing into a wider context, relevant to the audience, relevant to the world 😎 - if you can 2. Explain what impact your product has had on your customers 3. Choose the best speaker from your team, if you only have one shot at winning 4. Pitch it to kids, i.e. make sure not to fall into jargon, explain in easy terms, as not everyone knows your field Thanks Andrea Hak for outlining this so well in your article. 🙏 #startups #pitching #pitchingtips #materialsscience

My post last week ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gCAJ2yWB asked, "How do we move from the number 8 spot for US Startup Ecosystem Ranking into the Top 5? 1. There are efforts underway to "link Ecosystem Knowledge Hubs/Centers" who have IP that are east of Colorado more closely with the Colorado Community = "Opportunity". Not to mention, Marc Patterson at Endeavor Colorado. 2. The CU Boulder Innovation & Entrepreneurship Initiative is building funnel and pipeline = "Opportunity" by a) expanding the High School New Venture Challenge with a "eye" to state wide deployment, and b) incubating an adjacent NVC program = more on that from Stan Hickory when he is ready. 3. The CU Boulder Innovation & Entrepreneurship Initiative, Colorado Technology Association, GlobalMindED https://lnkd.in/g8_AruMX and Burridge Center for Finance are all exploring through creative programing, interconnectivity, knowledge hubs and dynamic initiatives ways to unlock doors.....creating "Opportunity". 4. Let's continue to build "Extraordinary Long Term Value". Alison Gerlach reminded me recently that you get there "through preparedness". Now think of the Apollo 13 Mission, ➡️ "Houston we've had a problem here,"- and not "we have". The crew and mission control worked with the assets available and worked the problem (e.g. The Martian). They got to solution through preparedness. Preparedness = "Opportunity"; a theme is emerging. Fascinating post on migration of #tech #workers from #SanFrancisco, #SiliconValley, #Boston, #LosAngeles and #NewYork and into new #techclusters in #Dallas, #Houston, #Austin, #Miami, #Nashville and other new superclusters. Anecdotally, from what I see here in #SiliconValley, #startupsfounders who left the area are returning and I am seeing a new generation of #postpandemic #founders who come here to find the talent, customers and investors. Hard to beat this support system. https://lnkd.in/gKMqu4F2

I run my clients' businesses for them so they can focus on making a greater impact | Advisory Board Certified Chair™, PMP®, Lawyer, Fractional Product/Tech/Security/Operations Leader
If you are a property #investor, do you like the idea of investing in a home that wasn't built to last? What are some of the products you consume that seem not to last long, yet we're always needing to buy them, maintain them, and replace them? Which ones do you wish had better quality so you wouldn't have to worry about it? There was a time when phones and computers lasted quite a long time... and now they cost way more and they don't last as long. What about #property? According to this video, it's been this way for decades with property. And there is a way to overcome this low-quality, unsustainable approach to building construction to get to a high-quality, resilient approach. What do you think?
