Some of the hardest talent for #startups to recruit is technical talent. No matter the job market, technical talent remain in high demand. And thanks to the #AI arms race, there’s a growing bottleneck for highly specialized AI and #ML talent. With that said, we're so appreciative that talent acquisition expert, Kathy Cardozo, took the time to join our founders for an in-depth workshop on how to hire and retain key technical talent. Drawing from her experience working with companies like Google, as well as startups including Eikon Therapeutics and Machina Labs, Kathy laid out a roadmap for building a high-performing engineering recruiting engine to help companies achieve their hiring goals — and ultimately — scale effectively. Very excited to finally announce our work with Passkey Therapeutics. Anyone who has met Bruce Beutel knows that he is a force - someone I would gladly work with in almost any circumstance. It just so happened that when he first walked through the vision for Passkey, it fit well with areas we like to invest. Much of Joel Dudley's academic work centered on concepts that are embraced in the Passkey approach to drug discovery and development. We're excited to continue seeing the impact this team will have on the way we develop new medicines (William Chen Soumya Ray Peter Dandliker Finola Moore, PhD and the rest of the Passkey Tx team). The current drug discovery paradigm mostly relies on one-target, one-drug approaches. This has resulted in enormous clinical successes, but many are often short-lived in complex diseases as patients fail to durably respond. From an evolutionary biology standpoint, this makes sense. In most cases, our biological systems have evolved to be resilient to unusual changes. This is why combination therapy has become the standard of care across many oncology indications and why we’ve seen a whirlwind of activity in bispecifics in I&I. Despite this, the broader field still comes up short, focused on rational combinations of targets that don’t take advantage of the structure present in underlying biological networks. We think the toolkit has now matured to interrogate these complex systems, understand and map the underlying network biology, and design therapeutic agents with multi-functional activity. Passkey Therapeutics embraces this biological complexity and aims to change the existing paradigm.
