Check out the below 👇🏻 Very timely considering the current challenges in #sustainability and #housing
Meet our next panellist for our panel discussion, Mary O'Neill. Mary is the Team Leader of BASIX at the NSW Department of Planning and Environment. Mary was in the first graduating class of Environmental Engineering students at the University of NSW in 1995. She has worked to improve the sustainability of the built environment, for the last 25 years. In her private sector career, Mary was involved in the early adaptation of BREEAM to become the Green Star rating in Australia. In 2003 she joined the public sector to work on what is now known as the National Australian Built Environment Rating Scheme (NABERS). Between 2007 and 2010 she managed a $360 million rebate program, transforming the residential market for energy and water efficient appliances. In 2018 Mary switched from program delivery to policy and is now leading the BASIX team through one of its biggest reforms since it began in 2004, the new State Environmental Planning Policy for Sustainable Buildings (2022). Good to see the recent 'Building a brighter Bristol' roundtable our MD Ian Fernandes-Johnson IEng MICE contributed to in the latest edition of Bristol Life. Lots of topics were covered, including social good. As Ian said, unfortunately the economic conditions have meant that ESG has taken a back seat. We're keen to see it higher up on the agenda. It was also interesting to hear other South West companies' and industries' views on local issues, concerns and aspirations. With a large base in Bristol, the South West is a key market for our temporary works and engineering operations, and we're always keen to connect with like-minded businesses. Thanks to Oli Ballard for organising and Almeda Facilities Ltd. #BusinessEngineering #SouthWestEngineering #SouthWestTemporaryWorks #BristolBusiness #BristolTemporaryWorks #BristolConstruction

One of the important resources for reuse is space - space for storage. One of the partners and tasks in the Norwegian SirkTRE project is dedicated to this missing/required resource.
We are happy to present a next short video. The Sirkulær Ressurssentral is a circular space in Oslo which enables reuse of construction materials, including reclaimed timber. One of the tasks in SirkTre focuses on storage space, because space - for storing, but also for sorting and other required activities- is needed to enable circularity practices. https://lnkd.in/dDn7MaPi Starring Emil Rygh
