ASIFMA welcomes the joint announcement by CSRC and SFC to introduce block trading via the Stock Connect Channel. This move will enable offshore investors to conduct block trades on SSE and SZSE via HKEX's Northbound trading, while Mainland investors will be able to conduct manual trades on the HKEX through the Southbound trading of Stock Connect. Block trading will allow the trading of a large amount of liquidity at an agreed upon price between participants and greatly reduce impact cost and signaling. #ASIFMA #StockConnect #BlockTrading #stockloans

SEBI has introduced a comprehensive operational framework aimed at streamlining the process of issuing and listing bonus #equityshares. The new guidelines will be applicable to all bonus issues announced on or after October 1, 2024. Specific timelines have been established for the issuing entity, stock exchanges, and depositories to ensure that #bonusshares are available for trading by T+2 days from the record date (T-day). While the ICDR Regulations outline the overall timelines for executing bonus issues, there was previously no defined schedule for crediting bonus shares to shareholders and facilitating their trading.   This investor-centric initiative aims to shorten the allotment process for bonus shares, enabling faster access to trading, and improving liquidity for investors.
