I’m #hiring. #aws #awscloud Experience and Projects Go beyond listing job titles and responsibilities: Describe the cloud platforms you’ve worked with (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and the scale of infrastructure you’ve managed. Highlight specific projects, detailing your contributions, technologies used, and tangible outcomes (cost savings, performance improvements, enhanced security). Example: “Led migration of legacy systems to AWS, resulting in a 30% reduction in operational costs and improved scalability.” Quantify your impact using metrics (e.g., percentage reductions in downtime, increased deployment frequency). 3. Skills and Endorsements A comprehensive skills section is crucial: Include key cloud engineering skills such as cloud architecture, DevOps, automation, and proficiency with cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Example: “Skills: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD Pipelines” Seek endorsements from colleagues and peers to validate your expertise. 4. Recommendations and Accomplishments Request recommendations from colleagues or managers who can vouch for your skills and work ethic. Showcase any relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Engineer).

Yesterday I was having a conversation with my client about their son who is looking to pursue a career in technology. They are debating between becoming a Cloud Engineer or a Platform Engineer and asked me what I think the difference between these roles are. This got me thinking and from my understanding the difference is as follows: 🔍 Cloud Engineer: As businesses increasingly embrace cloud technologies, Cloud Engineers are at the forefront of designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure. From AWS and Azure to GCP and beyond, they specialise in architecting scalable and reliable solutions in the cloud. Their expertise spans from virtual machines to containers, enabling businesses to leverage the full potential of cloud-native technologies. 💻 Platform Engineer: On the other hand, Platform Engineers focus on the underlying infrastructure that powers applications. Whether it's on-premises, in the cloud, or a hybrid environment, they excel at building and maintaining the platforms that support development and deployment. From managing servers and middleware to orchestrating CI/CD pipelines, Platform Engineers ensure the smooth operation and optimization of the technology stack. 💡 Both roles are integral to the success of modern IT initiatives, each bringing unique expertise to the table. Cloud Engineers drive innovation in cloud architectures and services, while Platform Engineers lay the foundation for seamless application development and deployment. Interested to hear my networks thoughts and if they have any advice for somebody who is debating on whether to pursue a career as a Cloud Engineer or a Platform Engineer. #CloudEngineer #PlatformEngineer #TechRoles #CloudComputing #ITInfrastructure

As a Cloud/DevOps Engineer your job is to solve problems... PERIOD. Problems an organization can't solve themselves so they hire you to help the team. But here's the catch, some of these problems that arise you may have never solved before.. but they hired you on the basis of "you're skilled enough to help figure it out" 😂 So trust me when I say, you will say these a lot - - "What the heck is this?" - "Where do I even begin to solve this?" - "Yooo what?" - "Why isn't this working?" - "This isn't making any sense" - "How many times do I have try this again" - "I'm must be dumb" Usually, you "eventually" figure it out....but if you're terrified of being put in situations where you'll CONSTANTLY whisper or scream these to yourself, you might want to re-evaluate this career.. (jk) 🤣 What else do you Engineers scream to yourself almost daily? #cloud #cloudengineer #cloudcomputing
