At Action Tutoring (along with almost everyone else 🤣), we have published our perspectives on the new government and what it means for us. In summary: 📢 Education Policy Landscape in Flux As the dust settles after a momentous election, the education policy landscape is poised for significant change. Surprisingly, education didn’t feature prominently in the election debates. However, one headline-worthy commitment stands out: the pledge to recruit 6,500 new teachers. This policy has garnered major support and is set to address the critical need for educators in our schools. 👩🏫 The New Education Secretary All eyes are on Bridget Phillipson, the freshly appointed Secretary of State for Education. As part of Labour’s education pledges, she’ll be instrumental in shaping policy. Alongside her, Catherine McKinnell has been announced as an education minister. While the commitment to recruit more teachers is promising, there’s still curiosity about implementation specifics. Fingers crossed for more details soon! 🌱 Early Years Matter Labour’s interest extends beyond the classroom. They aim to tackle issues right from the start of a child’s life. Their pledge includes opening an additional 3,300 nurseries by upgrading space in primary schools. It’s not just about childcare; it’s about providing quality learning and education early on, ensuring that gaps don’t widen from the outset. 🔗 If you’d like to explore more, read the full update here: https://ow.ly/TcFM50SxVrU. Action Tutoring has been doing impactful work, advocating for disadvantaged pupils and narrowing the attainment gap2. 📚 Remember, education is a powerful force for change, and it's crucial this is available to all, including those who are most disadvantaged! 🌈✨
