Being a creative ain’t easy; But getting crazy ideas commissioned is even harder. For those in my network who are non-media folks (yes, all 6 of you!) - every awesome TVC or viral campaign goes through a process where creatives like us have to narrate a script to the client. The aim is simple: bring in all the theatrics and voice modulation possible to convince the client that green-lighting this script is the right call. Bonus: get the brand manager thinking, “yeh green light nahi kiya toh raat ko so nahi paaunga.” And on some rare occasions, a brand green lights it without much input. Which leads to you getting to see the final product on-screen. And if you’re lucky, it’s almost exactly like the creative team envisioned it. On these rarest of rare days - being a creative in this line of work feels like the best job in the world. Kudos to Talented.Agency and the team behind this campaign. And thank you for providing some dope insight into what goes behind getting an ad made.

Creative Video Production Head | 8+ Years in Audio-Video Content Creation | Expert in TVC, DVC, Social & On-Air Films | Leader in Brand Storytelling & High-Impact Visual Production I AgencyCon’24 Winner
From Social Buzz to Spotlight: A Filmmaker's Unexpected Journey Remember the infectious "Maeun Maeun" jingle that captivated audiences across the country? Believe it or not, this national sensation began as a spark for a fun social media campaign for ITC Limited Bingo! As a filmmaker at Tonic Worldwide I was thrilled to be part of bringing this vibrant concept to life. We envisioned a lighthearted video capturing the essence of ITC Limited Bingo and engaging viewers online. What started as a playful social media campaign quickly ignited an overwhelming positive response. The catchy tune and playful visuals struck a chord, resonating deeply with the digital audience. This unexpected viral buzz sparked a conversation – could "Maeun Maeun" transcend the digital space and connect with audiences nationwide? Embracing the opportunity, we took a bold leap. We transformed the social media video into a prime-time TV commercial, broadcasted across 20 channels! It wasn't a simple transition. Expanding a concept designed for the fast-paced, bite-sized world of social media into a national TV campaign demanded meticulous planning. Tight deadlines loomed, but instead of feeling pressure, the team thrived on the challenge. This unexpected opportunity ignited a passionate fire within every member. Artists, editors, producers, strategists – everyone poured their hearts and expertise into making this project a success. Late nights were spent refining every detail, brainstorming sessions overflowed with innovative ideas, and unwavering support fueled the creative fire. This collaborative spirit ensured a smooth execution, transforming a social media darling into a captivating TVC. Watch the film Below https://bitly.cx/u3F This experience has taught me valuable lessons that I hope will inspire young minds who dare to dream big in the creative world: 1. Believe in the power of storytelling: A simple idea, nurtured with passion and creativity, has the potential to touch lives and make a lasting impact. 2. Embrace the strength of teamwork: When diverse talents come together, united by a common goal, they create magic that surpasses individual capabilities. 3. Adaptability is key: Content has the power to transcend platforms, reaching wider audiences when approached with an open mind and a willingness to evolve. To my fellow filmmakers and all those who love the creative arts – never underestimate the power of your ideas and the impact they can have. Embrace the unexpected, pour your heart into your craft, and let your storytelling ignite the world. #ADREVIEW Been a while since I saw an ad that brought a tear to my eye, especially a Malaysian one. This one did quite a bit more than that. Allow me to walk you through the emotions through out 120-seconds; The beginning looked like any typical Chinese New Year Ad - Preparations for the family dinner. Close up on the food - family enjoying time together - you had the mom giving blessings to God - But then out of nowhere, the Azan came on and everyone sort of stopped in their tracks. From the start we could gather that the Azan came from a surau or mosque nearby the house, assuming they lived in an apartment, it probably came from the apartment's surau given how loud and clear it was. And then from there it was all a game of skeptical assumptions. You had them turning the tv volume down - okay is this because they're just being respectful? Like its somewhat a common understanding that you take a pause or slow things down to give way for the Azan as a respectful gesture. Kalau tengah class dulu pun, we would take a quick 5 minute break during the azan and resume after. Then things took a turn, they pulled out their phones and started recording the Azan - then I was like alamak, are they recording because the Azan is too loud and they're just gathering evidence to file a complain or something. This too is something that has happened before in Malaysia. But the thing is, they don't seem to look angry or showed any signs that they were upset. So I macam wait a minute, what is going on... My idea of a good ad, is that it needs to be able to do 2 things: 1) Make you feel 2) Make you think Okay coming back to the last part of the ad, I was totally caught by surprise at the unveiling turn of events. Not gonna spoil it for you, watch it for yourself - https://lnkd.in/ge24JXjw The messaging was just beautiful. The whole ad was just so wholesome and fresh. An azan in a Chinese New Year AD? You win when you dare to be different. With such a diverse target audience in Malaysia, culture and religion is a very fine line to thread on, but this is how and why art is so powerful. Looking forward to more work by you Hyrul Anuar. I just also wanted to say thank you for sharing this masterpiece with us. This is art in its purest form. Happy Chinese New Year everyone! May we embrace change and continue to love stronger!

Can you create a sentimental spot like one you see in a Thai ad? "Next week/time, Next week/time I promise." Many of us, especially parents, are guilty of using this phrase when dealing with disappointments or unfulfilled promises. This 2-minute spot I've created is based on that sentiment. "A movie can be replayed, but some things in life, once missed, can never be returned to... No matter who or what you are." So did I answer the challenge of "Can you create a sentimental spot like a Thai ad?", let me know what you think Story & Script: Me and Hubert Chong Director + DP: Me Producer + PA+ Crafty: Hubert Chong Jr Grip: Alicia Lim and Brianna Wai Talents: Fredde Loke & Tze Wei Post: WOOO Productions
