At Italian Hospitality Collection we work hard to ensure team harmony and cohesion and constantly invest in human resources. Our new entry Giacomo Repetto first joined Italian Hospitality Collection at the beginning of 2024 through a school-work alternation program at Fonteverde Lifestyle & Thermal Retreat, in San Casciano dei Bagni, Tuscany. The perfect syntony with Chef Vincenzo Balzano led to future collaborations and now Giacomo is part of the kitchen team for the months of July and August! Here's what Giacomo has to say about his experience at Fonteverde: "In March and April I did my school internship at Fonteverde, where thanks to my colleagues, who have always been kind, friendly and helpful, I really learned what it means to work in a cooking team and realised I was following the right path. After this experience I was able to come back for the summer season as a kitchen commis. I owe the experience of my first working days to Fonteverde and hope to be able to realize my dream of becoming a Chef!” Welcome to IHC family, Giacomo! #IHCpassion4people #fonteverde #hospitality #staffengagement #peopleengagement #hospitality #staff #professionals #teamwork #workculture #collaboration #internship #workculturematters #experience

Here's a glimpse into my internship period that how restaurant kitchens operate on weekends. I'd like to extend my gratitude to all the chefs who trusted me and provided me with the opportunity to learn how to take orders, rather than just preparing ingredients for them. #InternshipExperience #InternshipLife #CareerGrowth #ProfessionalDevelopment #CareerDevelopment #ChefLife #RestaurantLife #CulinaryJourney #AppreciationPost #WeekendHustle #ProfessionalNetworking.

Let me tell you one thing for sure... your hard work and dedication will pay off in ways you can’t even imagine. During my time at training at Hyatt Regency I was constantly juggling internship new city hustles of everyday There were days when I doubted if all effort was worth it. One evening, while working a particularly busy shift at a hotel, → I encountered a guest who was visibly stressed from a long day of travel. → I took the extra time to ensure their check-in was smooth, and provided a list of local dining spots. The next morning, the guest found me and thanked me personally, saying my small gestures had made their stay unforgettable. ✨️🥹That interaction made all the long hours and hard work worth it. Here’s some valuable data you should consider: 📌 According to recent industry reports, 86% of customers are willing to pay more for a better experience. → Your attention to detail can directly impact a hotel’s success. Ps. What is your unforgettable memories of training days ? #hotelmanagement #hoteliers #linkedinforcreators

If I ever need to choose only one word to describe my MIT journey at Four Seasons, I will definitely go for the “privilege” one. This might sound too much; however, it is exactly what I could think of after being given so many opportunities to learn, to ask, to practise, to work and to act here at Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Hoi An. I always regard myself as a “planner” who prefers organising everything on my own from the original plan A to the back-up plan Z, to waiting for what the universe is putting in order for me. This might be unnecessary since we all know that life is not working that way. But believe me, living with a plan makes you feel more proactive and really gives you the direction. My goal of becoming an MIT here was first started when I was learning about the company’s internship programs to prepare for my very 1st mandatory one at university. After experiencing myself and learning that this is exactly the right place, I started working harder on my personal image, paying more attention to my studies and seriously building up the required profile until I received a nod of approval: “You are potential, and we would like to give you this chance.” That was also when I knew my hard work would definitely pay off. I have currently completed 3/4 of my training progress as an MIT by being rotated in different service sectors to gain a deep understanding of their functions and responsibilities with the guidance from my leaders and seniors. Despite several shortcomings, I am pleased to see myself growing and becoming a better version that I always expect myself to be. There will still be a long way to go, but I appreciate all the opportunities given and want to thank myself for never thinking of giving up. And that is my journey with Four Seasons. F&B Intern | MBA Candidate in Food & Wine | WFA Mentee Alumna | MSB Project Coordinator| YES Alumna and Scholars Recruiter
Its been a month since I started my internship at JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa and I thought it would be good to do a short reflection on what has been going on. The first couple of weeks are always a bit challenging, especially if you're new to the job but I found that three things increase your chances of learning and get acquainted faster: being proactive, learning from those who have some experience on the job and the old but very valuable, humility. This first month also reminded me of a quote from one of our leadership talks at the beginning of the year “undoing routines is hard but we need to put in the work to break the routines that stop us from achieving our full potential,” and although being challenging, this is key to growth. I've had to drastically change my routine which has made me embrace the simple things in life such as naps, walks around the neighborhood, sunrises and sunsets, quiet time at the park, etc. When it comes to the job, the interactions we have with guests are different everyday but for the most part, enjoyable. It's interesting how an exchange of smiles and greetings on the first day turns into an "I hope to see you on my next stay", "it was a please to meet you" or "I wish you the best in your endeavors" - this for me is the joy of hospitality, providing an instance for people to make a positive contribution in each others lives. The last month was a good start and I'm excited for what this month will bring. I hope to share more as I advance in this journey. PS: a quick video of the morning view on my way to work. #learning #growing #living

Motivated Hospitality Professional Ready to Contribute to Dynamic Team and Enhance Skills in Guest Services and Management
Reflecting on My Internship Experience in Front Office and F&B As my internship comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to share some of the challenges I faced and the skills I developed in the front office and food & beverage departments. As I wrap up my internship, I’ve gained invaluable skills and insights that I’m eager to bring into my next role. Challenges: Guest Interaction As my ultimate goal was to deliver the best service possible and achieve high levels of guest satisfaction, ensuring every guest felt valued and heard.Navigating diverse guest needs and expectations was often daunting, yet it pushed me to refine my communication skills and emotional intelligence. Each interaction taught me the importance of empathy and adaptability in delivering exceptional service. Team Collaboration Working closely with colleagues from different departments emphasized the vital role of teamwork. I encountered moments of miscommunication that taught me the importance of clarity and open dialogue. These experiences reinforced my belief that effective collaboration leads to better guest experiences and smoother operations. For example, communicate with the Housekeeping Department regarding guest needs. Language Barriers: Interacting with guests who spoke different languages posed a challenge, but it pushed me to enhance my communication skills. I learned to use simple phrases and non-verbal cues to ensure understanding. This experience taught me the value of patience and adaptability in providing excellent service. This encourage me to learn new languages. Cultural Sensitivity: Working with diverse guests helped me appreciate different cultures. I learned to be more attuned to guests' needs and preferences, even when language was a barrier. For example, in Chinese's religious beliefs about number '14' address number as it sounds like “certain death”. Many high-rises in Malaysia and Singapore, for instance, will change the 14th floor to 13A or 13B floor just to mitigate the negativity associated with the 14 number. Learning New Technologies: I was introduced to various hospitality management systems, which initially felt overwhelming. However, I quickly adapted, enhancing my technical skills and efficiency in operations. During my internship, I learned to use the POS system in F&B and the IDB system in the front office. Initially, both systems felt overwhelming, but I quickly adapted, enhancing my technical skills and boosting my efficiency in operations. This experience highlighted the importance of being tech-savvy in today’s fast-paced environment. These experiences have equipped me with valuable skills that I’m eager to apply in my next role, no matter the sector. If you have any insights on job opportunities or advice on navigating the job market, I’d love to connect!

I will be ending my internship at Resorts World Sentosa under Production Management in less than 2 weeks. 6 months has passed by in an blink of an eye and has provided me with so much memories. I would like to show my appreciation to all my colleagues who has been nothing but welcoming and understanding towards me. I would like to show special appreciation to my mentor Georgina, who has guided and taught me many things from scratch about the industry and jobrole. Georgina always made sure that I understand everything that is going on and is always patience to teach me new things, even if it means explaining it to me for hours. Her patience and determination has This exposed me to many new knowledge and allowed me to learn and adapt to this industry so much faster. Resorts World Sentosa provided an enriching experience by allowing interns to get involved hands on and physically so that we could be exposed to as many things as possible. The practical experience I have been given was crucial as it gives me my first sights into the industry and jobscope that I would be looking at in the future. Furthermore, Resorts World Sentosa has provided an enriching experience by giving interns the opportunity to get involved in many different types of events, like concerts, dinners and many more. I forged many unforgettable friendships and experiences, such as Halloween Horror Night 11, where I got to work behind the scenes of the 18 days event. HHN11 has been very eye opening for me as I used to be a loyal guest the past 5 years and will never fail to attend HHN every year. Therefore, working behind the scenes and understanding each processes this year was something different. During HHN11, my role was to turnover the scarezone that I was in charge of, from day operations to HHN11 show mode and I never would have expected so much efforts and details were needed to make the set come alive, and have learnt alot from it. This role has enabled me develop my interpersonal and critical thinking skills while interacting with people from different walks of life. My role under Production Management requires good communication with many people, and has taught me how to handle and converse with people differently. Not only do we need to learn how to converse with people internally in RWS, we also need to manage effective communication with external people, like our vendors. During situations where communication is not met or miscommunications happen, I have learnt how to remain calm, positive and resolve the conflict in a win win manner where both parties will be satisfied with the outcome. Finally, I am super appreciative of this opportunity to experience working with a team of experienced and knowledge colleagues, and they have made my learning so much easier. I have learnt so much from my colleagues and supervisor, and I aspire to be like them one day. #tphtm #internship #productionmanagement
