🚌 Way to Go, Jinan! 🚌 We're thrilled to share insights from our recent field study of the ADB-funded trolley bus project in Jinan. Our team spent five enriching days on-site, with warm reception from the Jinan Public Transport Group. The team visited the Jinan Public Transport Theme Park, the Huanggang multistory, the Yanshan charging station beneath the highway interchange (which uses excess electricity from the trolley bus grid), a specialized O&M center, and a remote monitoring center for power supply and distribution. Here are some key facts: 🌟 As a "Spring City", Jinan has profound, unmovable groundwater resources, therefore the city relies heavily on buses for transit. 🌟 Named ADB's Best Performing Project in 2023, the Jinan modern trolly bus network spans 75.1km. The project encompasses the building or renewal of 32 substations, the construction of 11 charging stations (with 69 charging poles and a total charging power of 4020kW), and the renovation and upgrading of 128 bus stations. 🌟 The Jinan Public Transport Group procured 350 trolly buses through the project. The Group's head office now operates 6 trolley bus fleets across 9 routes; women proudly constitute 20% of the bus driver body. 🌟 The 90km power supply and distribution network is divided into 59 key power supply sections, which effectively prevented voltage drops at the end of each section. It was inspiring to witness the spirit of the Gongjiao-ers and the successful implementation of this project, which persevered through five years of meticulous planning and the challenges of COVID. This experience reinforces the power of resilience and collaboration in achieving sustainable urban transportation solutions. #SustainableTransport #UrbanDevelopment #FieldStudy
