Our latest paper describing retinal adaptive optics scanning light ophthalmoscopy (AOSLO) imaging on a cohort of patients with RDH12-early onset severe retinal dystrophy (EOSRD) is finally out. This study demonstrates that AOSLO can provide useful high-quality images in patients with EOSRD, even during childhood, with nystagmus, and early macular atrophy. Very grateful to all the patients involved, Angelos K., Mira Dixit, and Michel Michaelides! #AOSLO #EOSRD #Ophthalmology #Retina #Genetics https://lnkd.in/eShc_KaV

Do you wonder if rapid, slide-free imaging compromises quality and pathology interpretation? 💭 Published by Torres et. al. in 2021 in Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, an evaluation of prostate biopsies using clearing histology with multiphoton microscopy illustrates: - reduced sectioning artifacts - comparable coloration and morphology of H&E - easily acquired multilevel perspectives via optical slices (z-stacks) - crisp resolution to view fine features like nucleoli Access the full manuscript here: https://lnkd.in/edY4BypV & follow along to stay tuned for more! #aboutapplikate #clearinghistology #digitalpathology

Head of anatomical pathology department . Consultant Anatomical pathology Associate Professor in Anatomical pathology
Streamlining the AP (Anatomic Pathology) workflow refers to optimizing and improving the efficiency of the entire process involved in the examination and diagnosis of tissue specimens in a pathology laboratory. It encompasses various steps, from specimen accessioning to final report generation. streamlining the AP workflow leads to improved efficiency, reduced errors, enhanced collaboration, standardized processes, regulatory compliance, better data management, and cost savings. It ultimately contributes to the delivery of high-quality, timely, and accurate diagnostic services to patients. #ssmc #pathology #histology #pathologylab #quality #pathologist https://lnkd.in/gpfU3B_m
Dr. Rawia Mohamed on Instagram: "Remember that streamlining the workflow in anatomical pathology laboratory is an ongoing process that requires collaboration, continuous evaluation, and a willingness to adapt to changing needs and advancements in technology. By implementing these steps, you can enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and overall performance of the AP lab.#pathology @ssmcabudhabi @dohsoc
