We introduced the new ECO tub at the IceFish Exhibition in September, and since then, Sæplast has been manufacturing these innovative tubs for us.
The ECO tubs are lighter, weighing 42 kg instead of the previous 50 kg, yet they retain the same strength and durability.
What does ECO mean? It represents our commitment to sustainability: the lighter design requires less virgin material, and each tub is produced using 100% renewable energy at Saeplast's factory in Iceland. Made from 100% PE plastic, these tubs are fully recyclable at the end of their 12-15 year lifespan.

DOK-ING, in collaboration with Humana Nova from Cakovec, has successfully tested a pilot plant for processing #waste#textiles to produce #hydrogen.
The initiative, unveiled on April 30 at the project's final conference, is part of a €700,000 development project co-financed by the #NorwegianInnovationFund. The project aimed to create the first #LOOPER plant for #textilewaste that intends to revolutionise current methods of #incineration and #landfilling.
The DOK-ING Indeloop team developed an innovation capable of processing one tonne of textiles daily, converting them into hydrogen, ash, and soot through gasification. This process emits no pollutants and the resulting ash can be repurposed for construction materials. Hydrogen derived from the process has versatile applications, contributing to a circular economy and environmental preservation.

Recycling iron drums into ovens is a fantastic way to repurpose materials sustainably! Here's how you can approach it and the benefits it offers:
Steps to Recycle an Iron Drum into an Oven
Choose a Suitable Drum: Look for a clean, rust-free iron drum. Ensure it’s food-safe if you plan to bake or cook with it.
Clean Thoroughly: Wash the drum and remove any remnants of previous contents. Use sandpaper or a wire brush to scrub off rust and residue.
Design Your Oven:
Horizontal Oven: Cut a door on the side and add hinges. Use a metal grid or tray as a shelf inside.
Vertical Oven: Cut the top off and insert grates at various levels for cooking or baking.
Add Insulation: Line the inside with fire bricks or heat-resistant materials to retain heat efficiently.

Having an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) score is important for a company for several reasons
I’m going to tell you 6 important reasons…
1. Transparency and Credibility:
An EPD provides a verified and standardized way of communicating the environmental impacts of a product. This transparency builds trust with consumers, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
2. Market Differentiation:
Companies with EPD scores can differentiate themselves in the market by showcasing their commitment to sustainability. This can be a competitive advantage, especially as consumers and businesses become more environmentally conscious.
3. Regulatory Compliance:
Many regions and industries are increasingly requiring EPDs to meet regulatory standards. Having an EPD score ensures compliance with these regulations, avoiding potential fines and legal issues.
4. Sustainability Goals:
EPDs help companies track and improve their environmental performance. This aligns with corporate sustainability goals and initiatives, contributing to overall environmental responsibility.
5. Customer Demand:
More consumers are demanding environmentally responsible products. An EPD score meets this demand by providing clear, comparable information about a product’s environmental impact.
6. Green Building Certifications:
In construction, EPDs are often required for green building certifications such as LEED or BREEAM. Having EPDs can help products qualify for these certifications, opening up new business opportunities.
Overall, an EPD score is a valuable tool for companies aiming to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability, improve their market position, and comply with regulatory requirements.
