I have always wanted to work in a healthcare setting while growing up. Whether that is working with the patient or behind the scenes and making sure patient information is accurate and protected. 2. What attracted you to the HR internship at ITW and what were some things that were most exciting to you that made you apply? I enjoy the environment here at ITW, working with my colleagues makes this internship enjoyable. I look forward to gaining new skills and learning more about Human Resources. 3. Where do you see yourself in 5 years in your career? In five years, I see myself having a career in the Health Information field, either at a hospital or a physician’s office. I will have a few years of experience under my belt by then and have advanced from an entry level job. 4. What would you say is your greatest non-work accomplishment? My greatest non-work accomplishment is graduating high school and becoming a first-generation college student. Navigating my way through college has been quite the experience and to say that I’ll be graduating spring of 2025 is rewarding! 5. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? During my spare time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, going to the gym, swimming at the beach or a pool, skiing in the winter, playing pickleball with friends and I enjoy relaxing. #ITW #igniteyourfullpotential #ITWDrawform #intern #HumanResources

Internship Chronicle: The Reality Check When I was in the university, I was so sure recruitment and selection would be easy peasy. My understanding of the topic was top-notch, and I loved it. Before leaving school, I fell in love with HR, and I knew out of all the functions, I wanted to focus on recruitment and selection. I knew all the processes theoretically and even took additional courses on HR after school. But oh, how reality loves to surprise us! Since diving into the HR world one month ago as an Intern, I’ve discovered that theoretical knowledge was just the tip of the iceberg. The practical side? It’s a whole different ball game. The same processes, yes, but with layers of some twist I hadn’t anticipated. It’s been a whirlwind of learning and growth, and I’m loving every moment of it. Note: Theory is just the start; the real learning happens on the job. I’m curious—what career path did you think you had all figured out, only to find out it was much different in practice? Share your stories and insights below! Let’s chat about those unexpected twists in our professional journeys. 👇 #CareerGrowth #HRInsights #RealWorldExperience #Realitycheck #InternshipChronicle #HRIntern
