These remarkable women, among many others, have left an indelible mark on the tech industry, inspiring generations to come. Spotlight on the Forgotten Innovators: Hedy Lamarr Celebrating #visionaries who changed the world Vision: Hedy Lamarr co-invented frequency-hopping spread spectrum technology. Challenges: Known primarily as a Hollywood actress, her scientific contributions were largely overlooked. Hedy Lamarr, an iconic film actress of the 1930s and 1940s, also made significant contributions to science and technology. During World War II, she co-developed a frequency-hopping system to prevent the jamming of torpedo guidance signals, a technology that later became crucial in wireless communications. Despite her invention being ignored at the time, Lamarr’s work laid the foundation for modern Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS technologies.
