Meet some of the first participants in the Getty Marrow Emerging Professionals pilot program, which aims to create more early career opportunities for those working in the arts from underrepresented backgrounds. Getty has been funding paid summer internships for students from underrepresented backgrounds since 1993 through the Getty Marrow Undergraduate Internship program, and the Emerging Professionals pilot program is an extension of that work. https://lnkd.in/eZiRsq8i

Most people relate to the subject of structure like it is things in a certain order, or sorting everything in to different boxes. Boxes has nothing to do with it. Structure gives rise to patterns and behavior not the other way around. When we have ice on the sidewalk here in Sweden everyone change their behavior, they walk slower and spread their legs to keep their balance. It doesn’t matter if they think in a particular way at this moment, everyone do the same thing. The underlying structure gives rise to this particular behavior. Whiteout ice different behavior. Structure is dimensional not linear. Instead of 1, 2, 3, 4………….it’s 2, 9, 74, 11, 3………….. If you’re in a lousy structure it doesn’t matter how hard you work. You will never end up where you want to be. On the other hand, if you build a structure that supports you aspirations the prediction is that you will get what you want.
