Empowerment starts with inclusion. Today, we are inspired by Guadalupe Morales' words: 'Nothing about us without us.' 🌍 Let's honor European Mental Health Week by actively engaging those with lived experiences. Their voices are not just valuable; they're essential in shaping solutions that bridge gaps and foster inclusivity. #MentalHealthWeek #ImpleMENTAL #HaDEA

🧠 13th May - 19th May 2024 is UK Mental Health Awareness Week. This year, Mental Health awareness group Mind has chosen the theme #NoMindLeftBehind. 💭 According to Mind "...black adults have the lowest mental health treatment rate of any ethnic group at 6%". Mental health discussions within ethnic minority communities require sensitivity and cultural understanding to address the unique challenges that affect our communities both individually and corporately. We applaud these discussions and hope for them to bring lasting change. 🤝 We want to see employers work with their teams to understand how workplace culture can change to improve the experiences of ethnic minorities. We believe that diversity, equality and inclusivity are not only good for improving the mental health of the ethnic community, but necessary. 🌏 Our vision is to create a culture of openness about the issues that are prevalent in our community. Openness brings visibility, and visibility encourages change. In all we do, we will continue to use our creative innovation to challenge existing stereotypes within society, and to show that mental health is our priority. #NoMindLeftBehind #mentalhealth #ukmentalhealthawarenessweek #blackcreatives #diversity #ethnicmentalhealth #culturalcredibility #purpose #workplaceculture

Diving deeper into the layers of societal wellness, we find the urgency to understand and address the unique mental health complexities within BIPOC communities. These are not singular challenges - they're rooted in systemic racism, discrimination, and socioeconomic disparities. So let's step up as change advocates, fostering culturally sensitive practices, and advocating for equal mental health care access. When the well-being of each individual flourishes, our society thrives. Take a page from Alice Walker's book: a novelist, poet, and activist who emphasizes the soul-nourishing impact of practices like meditation and art. Let's journey towards mental wellness, together. #MAKERSWomen #BIPOCMentalHealth #AliceWalker #BIPOC #MentalWellnessForAll

CDC reports have shown that teen girls experience persistent sadness and hopelessness twice as much as teen boys. Girls are also twice as likely to consider suicide. But there is HOPE! Through this partnership with Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore, our girls have more tools to build resilience on their journey. Priority Health is finding ways to get upstream, because our girls need us. Our youth need us. 💚 Thanks for your leadership, Vivian TerMaat. Thanks to Cindy Johnson and Jill N. for your creativity on this beloved partnership! #mentalhealthmonth (source: https://lnkd.in/gbNDuPGX)
💡 DYK that building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place, starts with emotional and mental self-care? To support thousands of Girl Scouts in west and northern Michigan begin the critical conversation around mental wellness, and develop tools that will serve them for years to come, Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore (GSMISTS) is thrilled to announce a collaboration with Priority Health. This collaboration aims to promote participation in the Girl Scouts of the USA Mental Wellness Patch Program, developed in partnership with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). This program serves to remind girls that they are never alone in facing challenges and emphasizes the importance of emotional and mental self-care.
