Happy to help connect Inclusive Energy and Productive Solar Solutions to create a 2kW pay-as-you-go remote-monitored flour and spice grinding mill for the global market. See it here grinding maize 80-200 kg/hour (depending on particle fineness) for the Kenya market to help replace diesel posho mills. Many other different types of mills can also be connected and run from this 48V DC 40 Amp solar controller, as well as non-milling productive loads like cookers, washing machines, ice-makers and more. 2.4kW is generally limit of single phase AC power (10A) normal socket power too, so brings payg DC solar home systems appliances up to the same power as a single phase AC solar+storage system, without the extra initial cost, future failure and higher voltage issues of using an inverter. If solar panels and batteries are DC, there's probably still an interesting market for DC appliances too, particularly when portability is desirable (as can be the case for some crop-processing machines like threshers and chaff cutters that do their work in the field). https://lnkd.in/dwaGby8g
🌍Inclusive Energy's Visit to Productive Solar Solutions Factory in Kenya🌍 We recently had the opportunity to visit our partner, Productive Solar Solutions Factory, in Kenya, where we tested our 48V Cloud Solar remote-monitored charge controller on their innovative 48V DC Corn Mill. The mill, powered by a 48V battery, delivered impressive results! This experience highlights the significant potential of productive use cases in the solar energy sector. As we continue to expand solar-powered solutions, we see the potential for more businesses and increased employment in the Off-Grid Solar Market. Powering a sustainable future, one sunbeam at a time! Under the SolarNova programme, NEA has installed solar panels at eight hawker centres, including Senja Hawker Centre (pictured), Tiong Bahru Market, and Pasir Ris Hawker Centre. Energy generated by these solar panels have helped offset electricity usage within the hawker centres. NEA harvests about 1,000 MWh of solar energy annually, which is equivalent to powering at least 1 hawker centre* for a year. These solar panels are just one way the Government is greening its infrastructure to meet the public sector’s net zero goals. Learn more about what the public sector is doing to go green in our GreenGov report here: https://lnkd.in/g687q6dc #Singapore #GreenGovSG #GreenPlanSG * Exclude power at stalls and central wash by PowerGrid

💡 🧠 In #PinhalNovo, the first photovoltaic park in Portugal was inaugurated as part of Voltalia's #GarridoComplex, composed of five solar plants. With an investment of €11 million, the park has an installed capacity of 11.8 MW and around 22,000 solar panels. The Garrido Complex, which includes this #SolarPark, comprises four other parks: #Alcochete, #Antuzede, #ValeSerrão and #OliveiraDeFrades. This complex represents an #investment of €50 million, has an installed capacity of 50.6 MW and a total annual production capacity of 96.7 GWh, obtained through more than 94,000 solar panels. 🔗 Know more here ⬇ https://lnkd.in/g4i-GFsh #sustainability #energytransition #PortugalMakesSense #madeinportugal #buyfromportugal #investinportugal #AICEP

The European Union's rooftop solar sector experienced a robust 54% annual growth, notably within the commercial and industrial segments. Conversely, the utility-scale solar market saw a 6% reduction in its share in 2023 due to various factors. Challenges such as postponed auctions, escalated grid charges, an inflationary climate, as well as hurdles in permitting and grid connections, continue to pose significant obstacles for solar project developers across many areas, despite overarching EU legislation. Consequently, the introduction of new utility-scale solar projects in Europe amounted to 19 GW in 2023, up from 16 GW in 2022. In stark contrast, rooftop solar installations surged from 24 GW in 2022 to an impressive 37 GW in 2023. #RenewBee #SolarEnergy #SolarEurope #RooftopSolar

Great insights from Dan that confirm some of my assessments of the market. The big shift in 2024 has been a reduction in demand for solar due to the sudden reduction in loadshedding. Recessions are a great time to sharpen your tools for the next boom. Tariff parity with behind the meter solar will likely cause the next boom between now and 2030. This tipping point is not as far off as most might think... 👀
Spent a week on the ground with solar companies in #SouthAfrica, and the insights were eye-opening. From the impact of #loadshedding to the shift towards #PPAs, the #solar #rooftop market is rapidly evolving. With competition heating up and new opportunities emerging, it's clear that solar in South Africa is on the rise. #SolarEnergy #RenewableEnergy #SolarPower #CleanEnergy #LoadShedding #Sustainability #EnergyTransition #Planno #Gauteng #WesternCape #CapeTown #KwazuluNatal #EasternCape
