Pixelfucked the movie by Vanya Kapetanovic is 🔥🔥🔥 (viewable via the reshared post below) Its a great summery of how the VFX industry works and its current heading. To be clear, the Gen-AI tech is snake oil, but the harm its causing to artists and working professionals in Hollywood is already very real. The little Gen-AI is capable of doing, has been made possible by outright theft from creative talent. The depiction of clients, "pixel fing" vendors with profoundly moronic notes like "make the water less liquidy" and make make it 3% or twice as big are actually sadly, extremely common. The hostage scene, beat down, etc are all sadly, slight departures from how this plays out in reality... sometimes the baseball bat is a cricket bat. The VFX sup illegally training on artists (& clients) renders to create AI products has already happened in reality as well. They opted to shut down their VFX services business, fire all of the artists they let go and try and rebrand as a technology startup... Lets Un pixel F our selves please...
