Business Development at Freedom Mobility| Physical Therapist

If you don’t know what an ATP is, here is a little education. It stands for Assisted Technology Professional. What do they do? 🤔💡 An Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) specializes in facilitating the use of technology and equipment to help individuals with disabilities enhance their functional capabilities. Their roles include: 1. Assessment of Needs: They work closely with clients to assess their specific needs, abilities, and limitations. This helps determine the most suitable assistive technologies to improve their quality of life. 2. Customization and Adaptation: They customize or adapt devices and software to meet individual needs. This might involve adjusting hardware, configuring software, or even developing custom solutions. 3. Implementation and Training: ATPs ensure that clients know how to use the technology effectively. They provide training to individuals, their caregivers, and other professionals on how to operate and maintain the assistive devices. 4. Coordination with Other Professionals: They often work in collaboration with other healthcare providers, educators, and therapists to integrate assistive technology into the individual’s overall care and educational plans. 5. Follow-up and Ongoing Support: They provide ongoing support and make necessary adjustments to ensure the technology continues to meet the needs of the user. We have some of the best at Freedom Mobility Rehab that cover the region, including our owner Brad Wine. I’m lucky to collaborate with them and other therapy professionals to customize complex needs. #maryland #DC #NOVA
