A Snapshot of Meeko's Last Strategy Away Day:   📍 Location: Krakow, Poland – a week-long journey in a beautiful Airbnb, blending work and rejuvenation in a city rich with history. As with our past SADs, we managed to work remotely from wherever we were in the world. 📅 Duration: Expanding from a weekend to an entire week, we struck the perfect balance between remote working and team bonding. 🚀 Focus: Deep discussions on our past year’s triumphs and hurdles, brainstorming innovative approaches for marketing and branding, and exploring new ways to uplift our clients and community. 🔗 Team Building: This trip was more than meetings and discussions. We embraced the rare opportunity for in-person connections, invaluable in today's challenging international travel landscape. 🎉 Activities: Our agenda wasn't all work and no play! From wandering through Krakow's ancient streets to relishing the local cuisine, we fortified our team spirit in the best ways possible. 💡 Takeaway: Our Strategy Away Day goes beyond a regular corporate event. Realizations after 4 days offline with our team 👇🏼   We've hit a new milestone last week: An offsite Summer Camp outside Germany.   As a mostly remote team, this was a special moment and fantastic experience ☀️   Here's what it included: Strategic work - we dove deep into our strategic compass, worked on our new website that is coming soon, and reviewed the last months with an AAR (more on that in this post: https://lnkd.in/dyiGsMRX)   Views - we decided to book a room at a Spaces location close to the water to be inspired and enjoy expansive views (we highly recommend their spaces in general!), but also see some views of the city and explore its history   Sightseeing - that also included Park Güell as well as some small authentic streets around town, because as you can tell, Barcelona has a lot to offer   Laughter - good for the soul, good for the mind, good for the team 😌   Tapas - no surprise: we had a lot of very delicious food, mostly not pictured because we were either too hungry or the food was too good to capture it mid-way. Places we tried and can fully recommend: Bar Jai-Ca (thanks to Lena Koenen for the tip!) & Kalamata - we would have loved to try all of your recommendations, but logistically that was impossible 👀   Celebration - 4 days together, a successful first half of the year, new milestones being hit, the sun and this lovely view of La Sagrada Familia, what more could we ask for 🥂     What we've realized: 1. It's good to get out of your usual environment to be creative. 2. Our team is very supportive and works perfectly, even when projects needed our attention so only half of us would continue the deep thinking processes until we were all back in presence again. 3. Not only one person, but everyone contributed to this trip by planning, googling, organizing, filming and more. Team work really makes the dream work. 4. Different perspectives deepen the experience and form a unique outcome we all happily stand behind. 5. "Impact that matters" is our core, and we all believe this is the future of work.     Here's to more impact, more purpose, more values-aligned projects, more team time and more smiles on everyone's faces! Working with Nick Misani on the deco of Swan's new headquarters was so fun. We had a tornado of ideas related to our business, our tech, and even inside jokes, and he helped many of them come to life. I especially love the code on our meeting room doors. Swan's meeting rooms are quite typically named after European countries. That alone is not unique — but we took it further! We wanted to give a feeling of our tech culture and give a fun nod to the "localization" that is so important to what makes Swan different. Bear with me while I talk about banking features :) Swan allows companies to offer banking features to their customers, embedded into their own product: accounts with IBANs, cards with their own logo. And it's all localized: A Spanish company wants to offer Spanish accounts, with IBANs that start with "ES", with Spanish T&Cs, following Spanish laws. Every time we launch an office in a new country, we build up localized accounts for that country, with local IBANs. 📍 No, it's not so easy that a developer can just say "Let's add new letters!" 🤡 Swan goes through a long process to get local accounts and local IBANs set up in each country. So far, we already have IBANs starting with DE, ES, FR, NL, and IT is next. My IBAN is: FR76 3000.... haha JK. I'm not giving that to you — fraudsters! So, anyway, When a developer is building banking features into an app, they connect to our API. And there is specific code that allows to create local IBANs. We put that code across our meeting room doors.  The "Italian" room has the code for creating a local Italian IBAN starting with "IT," etc. That's just one of the details we put into the office, but there are many more, all over the place.
