It gives me great pleasure to introduce my latest in:SITE guest, Steve Gilchrist. I’m not sure I could have asked for a better chap to speak to on the Circular Economy topic, it was great to catch up with Steve. I have known Steve for 10+ years, he is a first class construction professional who has had a stellar career working for Tier 1 Main Contractors (Sir Robert McAlpine), Structural Engineering Consultancies (Arup) and Developers (Grosvenor). Over the last 4-5 years, Steve has established himself as a true authority on sustainable build practices and materials re-use. Steve has quite the profile…………. - Founder / Director of Propetual, a consulting business helping companies to develop their sustainable strategies. - Founder / Organiser of Circular Steel, a collective of industry experts working together to create a more circular steel economy. - Author of Steve's Newsletter, a regular circular discussing the latest sustainable property and development news. - New Business Development Consultant to the Excess Materials Exchange. Over the next week or so we will be putting out some bite size highlights from my chat with Steve. The full video will be up on our website next week. If you want to learn more about the Circular Economy, the fundamentals that underpin it and what the future holds, be sure to check it out - https://lnkd.in/ei-Gdm2v #circulareconomy #inSITE #buildspace #deliberatelydifferent

Construction gets circular economy boost Want to know how design can improve circular economy outcomes in the built environment? There’s a lot that can be done to extend the life of construction materials. Strategic advisors Coreo and diversified general contractor Built. have joined forces to produce “How to write a Building Disassembly Plan.” The practical resource guide and accompanying templates are aimed at transforming construction through encouraging design that better enables the reuse and recovery of materials, and supports reduced whole-of-life embodied carbon outcomes. Built Group CEO Brett Mason explains the concept: “Building components can only be taken apart economically if they are designed for easy disassembly and if a building disassembly guide on how to do so is produced. When we sought out examples of building disassembly plans, we found very few relevant resources. So we decided to create our own.” #circulareconomy #netzero #sustainability To learn more please visit: https://lnkd.in/gvjr9Ezg
