Motherhood and the “Woes of the Childless” I will never understand people who ridicule women living without children. Childbirth is a significant event, and no woman should be made to feel less of a woman for not having children. I watched Delay’s interview with the bubbly host ,Adazoa, who always makes us all happy, and I had goosebumps throughout. Why on earth should someone who brings so much joy to others receive insensitive comments and opinions? Insensitive remarks not only contribute to harmful stereotypes but also inflict emotional pain and suffering on women and individuals Trying To Conceive (TTC). Let’s allow people to live their lives and stop playing God in others' lives. Using family vignettes, respondents in different cultural contexts showed consistent preferences, such as a negative view of childlessness but no preference for larger families over single-child families. Findings highlight the importance of communication, intergenerational ties, and respect within communities, revealing similarities in family ideals across industrialized nations despite different cultural settings. Aichi Prefecture Introduces - https://lnkd.in/gtvKQaad AICHI, Mar 24 (News On Japan) - Starting in April, Aichi Prefecture will implement the "Familyship Oath System," recognizing couples in same-sex or de facto marriages, and their children, as families. https://lnkd.in/gEAEQUUS The Familyship Oath System, set to launch on April 1st in Aichi Prefecture, is designed to acknowledge couples for whom marriage is challenging, including sexual minorities, and their children, as families. The system is open to all couples residing in the prefecture, regardless of gender, and allows them to apply for public housing and consent to surgeries at prefectural hospitals, among other rights, by taking the oath. Governor Omura of Aichi Prefecture stated, "This marks a step towards building a society that respects human rights and recognizes diversity. We hope it will serve as a catalyst for change." China officially still has a three child-birth policy for married couples, since 2021. That is laughable. It seems kind of ridiculous that there is still any policy at all. Why hasn't the government learned the hard way that this is an area they should stay out of? Births plummeted. Marriages plummeted. Youth lying flat. A radical social change underway, and all built on emotional pain. The government has not learned anything about limits to their planning. Chinese Women Aren't Waiting Around For Men In a significant societal shift, more Chinese women are taking steps towards securing their future... with or without a husband. Recent data from the China Will Repository reveals a staggering 24-fold increase in wills made by young adults over the past decade. Notably, many individuals, especially women, are opting to create wills even before tying the knot. Driven by changing social norms, an increasing number of individuals are choosing to delay or forgo marriage altogether. By the end of 2023, over 2,000 unmarried individuals had registered wills, with women comprising nearly 70% of this demographic. Educated women, particularly corporate executives and professionals, are leading this trend. The primary motivations behind creating wills include caregiving responsibilities towards parents and safeguarding personal assets, reflecting a growing sense of autonomy and responsibility among unmarried individuals.
