It's vital that healthcare professionals and students in clinical education learn about the structural, institutional and interpersonal silencing, oppression and intersecting power dynamics that contribute to disproportionate health outcomes. Health justice, practitioner agency and 'allyship' should be central to education, training and lifelong professional development. Happy World Doula Week! The week kicks off with World Doula Day, which is today. I became a doula because I love infants and helping families. Supporting families as they bond and connect with their little one is critical. I also think it’s crucial for birthing people and their family to have someone to depend on, who they can use as a resource. Maternal healthcare has a long way to go, and postpartum health is often very neglected. Everyone who wants a doula should have access to one. One of my favorite things about being a doula is seeing parents find their voices and find their ways as parents. I am constantly proud of how far my clients have come and love to see them and their babies thrive. If you are a doula, why did you become one and what is your favorite part about being a doula? If you are a parent who used a doula, what was your favorite part about having one? Feel free to give your doula a shoutout.

Thought Leader and Expert in Childbirth and Maternal Health Content Creation and Storytelling| Wordpress and Weebly Website Builder
The Genesis Birthing and Living Natural Birthing Philosophy: Pregnancy is not an illness needing to be monitored with fear, apprehension, and uncertainty. It is a process of nature needing only to be nurtured with factual information, support, and confidence. Labor is not a medical emergency that a family is incapable of experiencing or managing. Childbirth, naturally, is something no one else can do or experience for you. It is labor, and it is yours. Natural Childbirth then, is a commitment. It is a personal belief; a principle rooted in truth, faith, and prepared sacrifice. It does not falter at the threat of pain of the enticement of ease. It is resilient, and determined to succeed. Connecting you with the resources you need to birth like a Boss. ✍🏾 🎥 — @genesisbirthingandliving uses storytelling to help Black women give birth without trauma and shame even if they are statistically “at risk”.
