There are two things that I am extremely passionate about- diversifying the health informatics and information management workforce and advocating for health informatics and information professionals that struggle to find gainful employment because of their background. There were some meaningful responses to my previous post. Valid points were made about what needs to be done to have discussions and create solutions for both populations. There were also some responses that were very subjective. This was not an attack on anyone or a question of expertise. This discussion was and is meant to shed light on the employment disparities in the field and possibly come up with solutions to help both populations move toward a better future. At the end of the day, WE ARE ALL HIGHLY SKILLED. We just need to remove the bias and barriers impacting forward progress. #IAmHighlySkilled #WeAreHighlySkilled

Yes I totally agree with you, with a diverse teams we are better equipped to tackle complex problems from various angles, leading to more effective solutions.
