Happy new year and here's to a great 2024! 🥳 In 2023, I won Best Social Media Campaign with CF at Cork Chamber's Cork Digital Marketing Awards. And this bottle of prosecco! In 2023, I started my own business specialising in Arts Marketing. Working with artists and organisations on various projects. One of my pet peeves is when we're not 'allowed' to celebrate the wins. I've had bosses in the past who would ask what's next instead of "allowing" me to celebrate my win. It gave me a complex not wanting to talk about my wins or I would mention them in passing so no one would pay attention to them or god forbid, they would say I'm bragging. Thankfully, I've grown out of that. So much so, I'll talk about my wins for years to come. And I'll talk about yours too until you learn to do it for yourself. As a marketing professional who's been working with shopping centers since the 1990s, I am always so honored when I'm trusted to help prepare MAXI entries. 💕 I always give an honest opinion on a potential entry's strengths and weaknesses so the center's management can decide whether to enter. If they do, I'm a tried and true resource, having produced hundreds of entries! When it comes to preparing MAXI entries, my strengths are: • Seeing the big picture • Drilling down to the most important facts and images • Using them to tell the story in a concise, interesting and visually pleasing way Marketing directors are busy. While the MAXI entry process has been simplified, it still takes TIME, as well as WRITING and DESIGN SKILLS. 2023 is the year Three Omens graduated from "startup." Here's the checklist of successes that proves such. ✅ We surpassed 7-figures in annual revenue ✅ Have five+ employees and dedicated contractors ✅ Have an amazing office & offer hybrid work environment ✅ Honor the 5-day x 8-hour work schedule and limited work communication after hours ✅ Launched marketing campaigns for our services ✅ Have productized deliverables that target specific potential customers ✅ Retain over a dozen repeat clients on retainer that fuel our brand's rapid expansion. But to be completely transparent, I must share the losses/battles accompanying this growth path. ❌ Our first three years, we barely broke even and made enough to pay ourselves 30% less than what we earned in our prior careers. ❌ We worked ourselves to near death. 10-hour day minimums, weekends, and even some holidays. ❌ Worked mostly remote, on our dining room tables or coffee shops ❌ Only had contractors ❌ Said Yes to any job that landed on our table Every "W" comes from taking many "L's". Thankful for my business partner, Jake Craigmile. Thankful for any client that has trusted us to fulfill their needs. How do you feel when someone asks you about your wins? If you’ve just launched a fabulous new product, smashed a sales goal or secured a dream speaking gig, it feels fantastic to share your news. Those moments are amazing and absolutely worth celebrating. But what about when you've been focused on quieter (but oh-so-crucial) tasks – like sending emails, delivering client work on time, prepping for a webinar or posting content? Would you shout about those? Or would you stay quiet and feel, well, maybe a bit inadequate, feeling you’ve nothing significant to share? But here’s the thing: it’s consistently delivering these everyday activities that actually builds our businesses. And maybe if we start celebrating these achievements as wins too, we’ll boost our confidence rather than feeling like we’re not doing enough. We might even find ourselves going a bit further, a bit faster. Until suddenly those massive ‘big’ wins that seemed out of reach are only few mini-steps away. Now I think that’s something to truly shout about! So, this week I’m going to celebrate my micro-wins – however tiny. Will you join me? I’d love to hear and celebrate yours too. 🙌
