Former Krispy Kreme CEO Mike Tattersfield refers to the transformation of the Company as a shift from #doughnut bakery to a “doughnut logistics company.” And #logistics will be ever more important in light of the expanded partnership between Krispy Kreme and McDonald's that was revealed last week. By 2026 Krispy Kreme doughnuts will be available for sale in all U.S. McDonald’s restaurants - and a test of Krispy Kreme's 'hub and spoke' real estate model. Krispy Kreme's domestic and international hubs already serve thousands of access points and generate far more revenue than most of its #QSR peers. But what additional #realestate will #KrispyKreme need to produce and deliver doughnuts to all 14,000+ #McDonald’s restaurants throughout the country? In other words...what is the best real estate for a doughnut hub? ⬇

Locally I have noticed grocery stores exiting Krispy Kreme displays. Selling dozens have gotten expensive Logistics could be simplified in removing many grocery stores and getting volume focused on McDonald's stores and a few other destinations. Probably put donuts on bakery-type racks and save cost and time to prep outbound (rather than boxes of 6 or 12).

Doughnut logistics company? Sounds like overkill. It’s doughnuts.
