Update on the LAX People Mover Project The Los Angeles City Council has approved an additional $200 million in contingency funds to address legal claims from contractors. This brings the total project cost to $2.9 billion 🔹 Key Points: Project Team: The design-build team, known as LINXS, includes Fluor Corporation, Balfour Beatty US Infrastructure, Flatiron Construction West, Dragados USA, Inc., and HDR Engineering. Disputes: Ongoing negotiations address issues like the project timeline, technology access, and compensation. Project Scope: The 2.25-mile elevated electric train system features five stations, two intermodal transportation facilities, expanded parking, and regional transit connections to LAX terminals. Completion Date: Construction is nearly complete with an expected finish by October 2025. This is a pivotal part of LAX’s ground access transformation and represents the airport's first public-private partnership.
