This TDAPA approval is a big deal. When a new drug gets FDA approval, it takes a lot of time and effort to get providers to use it. But here it’s totally different ball game. Starting 1st of July CMS will pay 249.99 USD per vial of Defencath. A dialysis session needs 2 vials and so, 500 USD per session of dialysis. Patients get dialysis 3 times a week and so, 288 vials per patient per year/ 72000 USD per patient per year. The dialysis provider such as DaVita etc. will get part of this payment and CorMedix will get the rest. Let’s say the dialysis provider gets 150 USD per vial and CorMedix gets 100 USD per vial. That’s big money for the dialysis providers and so the major dialysis providers are eagerly waiting for July 1st to start using Defencath. The company estimates 37 to 46 million vials just in the outpatient setting per year. That’s like up to 4 billion USD per year revenue just from outpatient. Inpatient will be additional. Looking at 4 billion USD revenue in 2025. That means a share price of about 75 USD per share. Counting inpatient revenue: 100 USD per share. Guaranteed full CMS reimbursement for first 2 years and then 65% of ASP for 3 years and after that dialysis bundle. Easy 2000% gain in 12 months!

Evolving data on new antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) suggests that some may cause nausea and vomiting lasting more than 5 days (referred to as “long-delayed CINV”). Administering guideline-recommended antiemetic prophylaxis is critical, especially considering the extended treatment duration for many patients. As uncontrolled CINV significantly increases the risk for CINV in subsequent cycles, appropriate upfront antiemetics when initiating ADCs are essential to optimize patient outcomes. #seeCINVbetter #supportivecare #ADCs         

Sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) have emerged as a pivotal class of #medications in the treatment of #heart failure (HF). Their ability to reduce #hospitalization and mortality has significantly impacted patient outcomes. At the European Renal Association #ERA24 congress taking place this week, newly published data are shedding light on the importance of following guideline-directed medical therapy in cardiorenal patients with hyperkalaemia (HK).     We know that HK is manageable, and hospitalisations are avoidable when treated as a chronic condition. However, patients with HK often see their renin‐angiotensin‐aldosterone system inhibitor (RAASi) medications reduced or even stopped, resulting in an increase in hospitalisations.       HK should not be a barrier to optimised care. FAQ: How does Minimally Invasive Stretta Therapy compare to PPI treatment? Patients given Minimally Invasive Stretta Therapy exhibited significantly higher overall satisfaction and significantly lower PPI use at six month follow up. "The satisfaction rate was significantly higher in the Stretta group than in the PPI group (P < .05). Specifically, 25 out of the total 28 patients (89%) in the Stretta group responded with “yes,” while 12 out of the total 21 patients (57%) in the PPI group responded with “yes” in patients’ satisfaction surveys." "All patients were taking PPIs at baseline. At the 6-month follow-up, complete PPI cessation was achieved in 23 (82%) patients in the Stretta group and 11 (52%) patients in the PPI group. Two (7%) patients in the Stretta group and 6 (29%) patients in the PPI group were taking non daily, on-demand PPIs. Another 3 (11%) patients in the Stretta group and 4 (19%) patients in the PPI group continued to take daily PPIs.
