As Laurent Alexandre Sagarra, our VP #Sustainability, explains, at JDE Peet's we believe coffee can change lives. Responsibly sourcing coffee means addressing problems on the ground to create real impact, whether that’s improved yields for farmers or reduced deforestation. In short, better outcomes for people and planet. Laurent shared some thoughts on our approach at the recent #IdeasFest held by FoodDrinkEurope in Brussels. Drumroll please... We’re featured once more among the global Food Tech 500, climbing all the way to spot 31 of the list from spot 227 last year! 🥳 Whilst we bathe in the glory of this recognition, let’s also take a moment to reflect on what we’re trying to achieve. Together, AgriFoodTech businesses at the intersection of food, technology, and sustainability are working to revolutionize the food system. At The Seaweed Company, we’re aiming to tackle a number of the challenges highlighted by Forward Fooding: 🚜 40% of land degraded globally 🏭 1/3 of global GHG emissions come from the food industry 💧 70% of the world’s freshwater is used in agriculture Thank you to the other companies advocating alongside us for a more sustainable food chain – here's a special mention to some of the other pioneers on the list PeelPioneers, FUL Foods , Willicroft, and NoPalm Ingredients. Onward! #FoodTech500 #Sustainability #Innovation #Seaweed

The #EU should promote a legislative framework on sustainable food systems that encourages innovation and boosts investment in decarbonization technologies for the entire agri-food chain, including brewing. The Brewers of Europe’s mission is to have a positive impact on society, people and the planet. As part of our ‘grain to glass’ approach, we have transformed our #brewing processes, our supply chains and how beer is consumed - by putting sustainability at the core of our operations. #Circularity is one of the main driving forces behind the green transition of the brewing sector, together with the aims of the European Green Deal. The Brewers of Europe remain committed to the EU’s 2030 climate goals and to speeding up the creation of more sustainable food systems. And a supportive policy framework that fosters innovation and promotes technological investment remains essential in order to meet the ambitious targets set by the EU.
