In 2023, the Mobilizing for Monuments campaign was launched to create a coalition of businesses in the $1.1 Trillion outdoor industry who are calling for the designation and expansion of national monuments throughout the United States. In November, The Conservation Alliance, Flickr, Rivian, and the Nuestra Tierra Conservation Project embarked on the #M4MRoadTrip to bring these landscapes to life, sharing how national monuments benefit economies and communities alike. We loaded up vehicles from our friends at Rivian and together we visited five breathtaking landscapes across the western U.S., bringing together conservation champions, politicians, grant recipients, and community leaders to make the case for designating and expanding these wild places. Along the way, Flickr captured remarkable footage that they are generously sharing with us in support of the campaign. As we prepare to share these stories in the coming months and urge the Biden Administration to take action, we’ll be giving you sneak peeks into each of our key stops along the way.
