#SharedDecisionMaking is a key component of patient-centric care. However, new research from the American Heart Association shows that #SDM only occurs in about 10% of in-person patient encounters. This is mostly due to challenges such as policies and reimbursement, clinician training, and leadership. To overcome these obstacles, researchers from AHA highlight the importance of new reimbursement models as well as the integration of SDM technologies.
