🚀 AI Power in Europe: Mistral vs. Aleph Alpha 🤖💡 In just 10 months, Mistral AI from Paris has successfully challenged the big US firms in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). With an AI model that even surpasses OpenAI's ChatGPT, Mistral has proven that Europe can keep up in AI. On the other hand, the German start-up Aleph Alpha, despite receiving significant funding of nearly half a billion euros in November, seems to be lagging behind in the competition. Their language model Luminous may considered as outdated. The two companies pursue different strategies: Mistral focuses on direct competition for the most powerful AI language model and has already formed partnerships with companies like Microsoft. Aleph Alpha, on the other hand, offers a "holistic AI transformation," focusing on domain-specific language models and enjoys broad support from German industrial companies and local venture capitalists. It remains exciting to see which company ultimately wins the race and establishes Europe as a leading force in AI. 💼💥 #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #MistralAI #AlephAlpha #EuropeanAIRace #TechInnovation Read more: https://lnkd.in/e6qj8DFG

🤖 German companies sceptical about non-German AI Read article by Tristan Fincken in COMPUTERWOCHE In a recent Bitkom study, a significant 84% of German companies expressed skepticism towards non-German AI solutions, highlighting a strong preference for homegrown alternatives. The survey, which included over 600 companies, revealed that 86% of generative AI users would prefer options developed in Germany, while only 64% favor U.S. offerings. The findings underscore the potential for Germany to become a leading hub for AI innovation, as currently only 9% of surveyed companies utilize generative AI, with an additional 18% planning to adopt it soon. This presents a substantial opportunity for German AI providers to meet the market demand and establish a competitive edge. 🚀 Potential solutions include the "DataHub Europe" by Schwarz Digits and Deutsche Bahn, a platform designed to enhance the digital transformation of European industries by providing a secure and GDPR-compliant environment for training AI models. Supported by partners like Aleph Alpha, STACKIT, Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) Technische Universität Darmstadt and hessian.AI Read article by Jürgen Hill in COMPUTERWOCHE https://lnkd.in/ejtZ6qDy My view? 🎭 We need to stop playing innovation theatre 🚧 Cut through bureaucratic regulations 🔮 Augment intelligence = Human Intuition + AI 🌍 join EWSECO https://lnkd.in/eZjuNAJm 😎 use AI CheatSheet https://lnkd.in/erBAN8Q2 ✍ ask specialized SW lawyers like Rechtsanwälte BDH 🤖 AI tools from 🇩🇪startups like ABRAMS world trade wiki , Coveritas , Modelyzr GmbH or PATEV Associates GmbH can support you to identify inflection points, market shifts and other critical moments faster & better. https://lnkd.in/e3CcKHNc #AI #Innovation #Germany #BusinessInsights #startups #sapfamily #corpvision https://lnkd.in/eMXHMbDm

While 2023 was characterized by the discovery of hashtag#genAI, 2024 will be the year in which companies will actually want to implement this technology and derive business benefits from it. There is huge potential behind the hashtag#AI hype. "Firstly, because of the immense computing power now available, which is greatly accelerating the development of AI applications. Secondly, because of the broad applicability of generative tools making them a sort of AI Swiss army knife." 💡 What characterizes companies that are already successfully integrating AI into their strategy? They focus their AI efforts on specific areas, such as optimizing customer service or the supply chain. Companies that experiment in too many areas, on the other hand, are not utilizing their resources efficiently. Rodney Zemmel, Global Leader McKinsey Digital, explains in the NZZ how the hype could develop in the coming years: https://lnkd.in/gGxUzJVc #McKinseyonAI #StateofAI #NeverJustTech

"AI should not be in the hands of seven men who run large companies." 🤔 How do you see it? This is a great critical view by Stefan Woltran. 👉 We need more entrepreneurs, researchers, and thinkers from different backgrounds in AI who can truly shape the future, but also have a say in it. 👉 The sentiment expressed is quite relevant and reflects growing concerns about the concentration of power in the development of AI technology. 👉 The idea that AI should not be controlled by a small group of men leading large corporations highlights the risk of creating systems that prioritize profit, control, or narrow interests over broader societal benefits. I agree with the perspective shared by Stefan Woltran. We do need more #diverse #voices, including female entrepreneurs, researchers, and thinkers in AI. Especially in voice, image and movie generation we obviously see old-fashioned views or biases arising even more. 👉 A broader and more inclusive range of perspectives ensures that AI is developed in a way that serves the interests of all people, not just a select few. It also helps mitigate the risks of bias in AI systems, which can arise when only a limited demographic controls development. 💡 Shaping the future of AI should be a collaborative effort, with equal input from various sectors of society. This diversity fosters innovation and ensures that AI technology is aligned with ethical principles and human values, beyond just economic interests. The #Baby #Boomer generation, despite their economic successes and life extension through scientific advancements, have led to a critical burden on the world economy due to a large number of retirees; the recognized solution for this is the increased use and #promotion of #AI, evidenced by massive investments in #Germany and the development of an AI action plan. Simultaneously, #Europe, particularly Germany, has chosen an independent path in AI development, supported by initiatives like Silo AI, Aleph Alpha and Mistral AI, as well as by the EU's first comprehensive #AI #law, to ensure a multipolar and #sovereign AI #future. #AiOrNotAi neusinger GmbH https://lnkd.in/dPV8x-vv
