I've recently reviewed applications from students and have some takeaways for anyone, especially students, starting out with a job search: -Do not include your entire address. City and state are enough, and it doesn't hurt to include your home and school location if they are different. -Make sure to follow ALL the directions listed in the job application. -Have someone proofread your materials. If you're using the same cover letter format for multiple jobs, you don't want the wrong position/department/organization included in the letter. And, double check the spelling of anyone's names. It takes practice and you'll always be updating your materials. Don't overthink it and don't get discouraged.

A tip when you're updating your latest CV... Copying the JD doesn't really tell the reader what you've done in your role, nor is it that useful. No role is exactly as described in a JD. It just doesn't happen like that. Two different people can take the very same "job" and end up in very different roles. So, rather than copying your JD into your CV, think hard about the key 5 or 6 activities that made up what you did. Then, think about your most significant achievements and list them. This will give far more insight into what you did and how good you were.
