While innovation is exploding (9 new IPOs in Q1'24!), the funding remains tight (venture capital down 8.7% in 2023). 🧬𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐝: FDA approvals hit a record high in 2023, but cash hasn't followed. 🧬𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐳𝐞: Early-stage companies are struggling (investment down to $12.48 billion in 2023). 🧬𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐧: 56% of public biotechs have less than 2 years of runway left. 🧬𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐬: Public offerings are making a comeback (US$1.44b raised in Q1'24), and established players are seeing strong private investment (PIPE deals reached an all-time high in Q1'24). We are pleased that our CSO, Peter Rugbjerg, has been invited as one of the few key speakers to enlighten a broad audience on this exciting theme for the 2025 Challenge Programme.
