A 4x greater risk of death! ⚠️ People with the lowest vitamin D levels have a 4 times higher risk of death compared to those with the highest. Vitamin D is crucial for our health, with deficiencies linked to cancer, cardiovascular disease, and metabolic syndrome. Studies suggest that taking 2000iu daily can boost levels, but it's best to get tested at least twice a year (winter,summer) to ensure optimal levels. Changes in the gut microbiome have been implicated in a range of diseases including type 2 diabetes, obesity, and inflammatory bowel disease. Now, a team of researchers at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard along with Massachusetts General Hospital has found that microbes in the gut may affect cardiovascular disease as well. Emerging evidence indicates that #asthma is also a risk factor for #cardiovasculardisease. Affecting around 25 million Americans, including nearly 5 million children, asthma leads to numerous annual doctor and ER visits. A long-term analysis published in the journal CHEST, which tracked participants for over 35 years, found a connection between asthma and an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, even when accounting for other variables. Additionally, research in the Journal of the American Heart Association revealed that individuals with persistent asthma exhibited higher carotid plaque scores and elevated levels of inflammatory biomarkers compared to those without asthma.
